Let the Paper Do the Talking

It’s Technique Tuesday! Our papers coordinate beautifully and sometimes you just have to let them do the talking. Not much extra is needed with this set.

When you use almost exclusively the Designer Series Paper for your project please remember to post it on my page, https://facebook.com/StampingWithJoni.

A Slow Morning

It’s Sabbath Sunday! This is the day to rest so you can be recharged for the week.

After going all last week and yesterday this slow morning is most enjoyable. A cup of tea that is not in a travel mug that I get to sit and enjoy. No hurry ups. No anything. Just a minute to sit and enjoy the morning.

What is your favorite way to enjoy a day off?

I look forward to reading your favorite ways to enjoy a slow day in the comments.

Finishing the Holidays

It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward.

Well…the holidays are over. Some of you are bummed that it is all over and others are breathing a sigh of relief. Family, friends, and tons of extra events can be lots of fun. But they can also take a toll mentally and physically.

Here are some tips to keep your sanity during the holidays (and after to recover from them).

  • Set aside time for yourself.
  • Keep a regular sleep and exercise schedule.
  • Set boundaries.
  • Spend time with supportive people.

6 Cards and a Holder

It’s Tutorial Thursday! Today I want to show you 6 cards and a card holder with some of the new products from the Mini Catalog as well as the Sale-A-Bration Brochure.

For the watercolor ones you will need to stamp with either a very light color (Daffodil Delight) or with Tuxedo Memento Black Ink. Then fill in with Watercolor Pencils and Blender Pen.

For the One Sheet Wonder cards…

  • Start with a 6″ X 6″.
  • Cut with the Paper Trimmer a piece 5″ X 1″ first.
  • Then cut a section that is 2 1/4″ X 5″.
  • And finally two sections measuring 3 3/4″ X 2 1/2″ each.

For the organizer or folder…

  • Start with a piece of card stock that is 8 1/2″ X 11″.
  • On the 11″ side score at 5 1/2″.
  • On the 8 1/2″ side score at 2″.
  • Punch holes on the left and right. Tip: Make sure to go about 1/4″ from the edge so there is enough room left for the cards.
  • Cut a piece of ribbon approximately 28″ long. Thread through the holes so the cards are held in to the folder.
  • Decorate the front as wanted.

Here are some photos of the kit and finished project.

To watch the video please go to https://youtu.be/sa1qAfJlJX0.

And to get the details about the kit that can be ordered through Sunday please go to https://stampingwithjoni.wordpress.com/diykits/.

Hearts for a Background

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended!

Did you know that an accent or larger stamp can be used to create a background? Check out what I did here with the new Country Floral Stamp Set.

Using Accents for Focal Pieces

It’s Technique Tuesday! Today I want to show you how to use an accent for a focal piece.

In the new Mini Catalog on pages 8-9 there is a Valentine’s Day collection called Country Floral. I want to show you how the hearts in this set can be used with other sets (Adorable Owls in this case) to create a focal piece.

I punched out the heart from the Designer Series Paper and drew a balloon streamer with the Sweet Sorbet Stampin’ Write Marker. I also colored the bow tie to coordinate everything a bit better.

When you try this technique please post a photo of your finished project on my Facebook page at https://facebook.com/StampingWithJoni.
