It’s where you look.

It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward. Do you ever wake up and just don’t feel it? The sun is up and the birds are still chirping but you just don’t feel chipper. It’s all about perspective.

I would encourage you to change how you look at things if everything seems negative or dull. It might be you.

I am writing this because this week has been a tough one for me. There’s been lots to do and not a ton of time to do it in. Remember that most of life is how you look at it.

Cooking with the heat tool.

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended! Have you used the heat tool to cook? I know we use it to melt the embossing powders, but you can also use it to “cook” shrink paper (shrinky dinks). It will shrivel and turn but keep it steady and it will flatten back out. Tip: Have a tweezer nearby to help flatten out what you need to.

It’s all about the catalog.

It’s Technique Tuesday! I am supposed to be writing about a tip or new way to create today. But I can’t. I just can’t. The new catalog starts today and that’s where my brain is. So instead let’s do this…

Tell me what is your must have, favorite, to die for product and what you like about it or why. Each comment gets 10 reward points.

Hint, hint…this is a month you want more points. You can earn points until the 14th and all must be redeemed by June 30th. There will be an awesome basket to finish the year so don’t wait!

Re-charge both in and out.

It’s Sabbath Sunday! Today is your day to rest and re-charge. Remember to rest both inside and out. It’s just as important to rest your brain as it is to rest physically. This is why I talk about breaking up your routine and doing something different. It might be just enough to hit the reset button for the week.

Giving back at home.

It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward. And today’s post hits close to home.

Many of you personally know my family…my daughter Tara, dog Shadow, and husband Joel. Well, the ones closest to you often see the best and worst of us.

Recently I signed up to be Yucca Valley High School Music Booster President. If you’ve known me for a while this is no surprise. I often take on challenges that seem insurmountable until they are done. And as always, Joel is supportive of all my crazy adventures even if they add a bit of stress.

But this time he seemed to step up a bit more. I came home to a clean house and questions on how to make dinner yesterday. Not what was for dinner but how to make it. His actions spoke louder than all the words in the dictionary.

So I would encourage you to be that person for who you live with or see often. Don’t let them always see you at your worst. Show them that you are there to be supportive as well as to help where you can.

Happy Crafting!

P.S. And if anyone sees Joel today don’t forget to wish him a happy birthday!

Flowers from balloons.

It’s Tutorial Thursday! Do you know that you can create a flower from the balloons? Punch a bunch of the balloons out of the Balloon Bouquet punch. Take one of the larger balloons and trim to create a circle for a base to glue everything to. Do not worry if it is not perfectly circular. Tip: You may want to dot the center of the circle with a pen.

Take the punch outs and break down the fibers of the card stock with the large stylus tip on the Take Your Pick tool. You will need a Piercing Mat as well.

Start to layer the larger balloons on the bottom with 3 glue dots per balloon or petal. You will need 4 balloons per layer. Then attach 2 glue dots per the smaller balloons and attach to the larger ones.
