Using Memories & More to Meet in the Middle!

It’s Technique Tuesday! Sometimes you are trying to create a quick card and it just doesn’t seem to come together. You don’t want to cut another piece of card stock but all your scraps are just a bit too short. Then grab some Designer Series Paper or a Memories & More scrap and place it in the middle. Simply cut and trim so it looks like it is supposed to be that way.

Resting at the cinema.

It’s Sabbath Sunday! Today is the day to get some rest, break from the routine, and just have some fun.

So for today I slept in, will actually cook some breakfast (and not just grab something), and then head off to the movies tonight to escape for just a bit. I believe Spiderman is on the screen tonight. I think my favorite movie of all time is the Sound of Music, Gone with the Wind, or the Wizard of Oz. What’s yours?

Holiday Catalog is Coming!

It’s Sale Saturday! Do you hear the bells? The sleigh bells? I know it’s August but the Holiday Catalog is about to go live. Have you told me that you want your copy?

You can pick up your copy at the Open House on the 17th or I will have times the following week that I will be available both in 29 Palms as well as in Yucca Valley. If you are not local I will mail it to you for FREE!

But, for now, the clearance rack has some great deals! Go to https://www.stampinup.com/ecweb/products/100100/clearance-rack.

To help Jodi please use host code 3EDTMSUU that will be good until Monday evening at 7:30. If you prefer to order in person please contact me.

It’s the little nudges.

It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward.

Sometimes it’s the little nudges that keep you going. Yesterday I opened my mailbox to this card.

Good friends know when you are a little weary and need a nudge.

So when you hear that still small voice saying call Jennifer, text John, mail a card…whatever, please answer. Don’t ignore it. There’s a reason you are being nudged. It might just be what someone needs to get over the hump and to not slide back down the hill they just climbed.

Mini curvy boxes, bells, and more!

It’s Tutorial Thursday! I know it’s August but around here it’s beginning to look like the fall and Christmas. Or maybe I’m just hoping for cooler weather.

For today I am showing you the new mini curvy boxes and they even have bells on. 🙂

The tag is colored with our Stampin’ Write Markers and the balls on the toes are touched with our new Shimmery Crystal Effects.

Paper as a ribbon.

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended! Today I want to talk to you about using paper as a ribbon.

Sometimes a fabric ribbon does not seem to match. It’s dyed to be the same color but with the texture it just doesn’t seem to go. This is when you rely on your paper instead. Take a narrow strip of paper and glue down much like a ribbon. It will match!

This card will be created at Cheryl’s Card Class on the 14th. Here’s the invitation.

Let me know if you would like to come!

It’s okay to be crooked.

It’s Technique Tuesday! I hear from many of you while you craft say that it’s not perfect. Well…it’s handmade. 🙂 One of my crafters would say “better done than perfect” (miss you Fran since you moved away).

My point is if you can’t do it straight then don’t. Make crafting work for you, not the other way around. If you don’t like bows then do knots instead. There is always another option.

Here is my answer to not being straight…don’t be.

Do it so crooked that it looks “perfect”.

Rest is a good thing.

It’s Sabbath Sunday! This is the day to rest. Aaaagggghhhh.

It’s amazing to me how a couple hours, days, weeks, whatever you have taken off can sharpen the mind. A change of scenery does the body and mind so good.

Recently I took a week off and was amazed how a little extra sleep and the smell of a forest with actual trees (I live in the desert where the color brown is perfected) can be a game changer.

This week, however, I am back to it and am planning a bunch to get ahead. I love how putting in the work and doing some much needed planning and preparation can ease my mind for the rest of the week.

So what do you do to sleep better at night? What’s your favorite get-away?

Happy Crafting!

Joni 🙂
