Don’t forget the catalog.

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended!

So the new annual catalog starts today at 11 am! But did you know that the catalog has all the typical things…table of contents, index, etc.? And I will remind you to make sure to look at the pictures. Those pictures are of projects that can give you ideas to create great masterpieces. Generally a couple of pages before and after the product has samples from that stamp set, die, etc. So don’t forget to look at the pictures.

Embossing folders make a difference.

It’s Technique Tuesday! Sometimes you want a more elegant card and sometimes a simple one. So depending on the look you want pay attention to what you are using to provide the accents or texture. The background says just as much as the accents or embellishments do.

So make sure to think of the whole picture when you are creating.

Open Times are Back!

It’s Management Monday! Here’s what’s happening this week.

The Stamp of the Week begins today and runs through Saturday! Be watching for a brand new stamp set!

Open Times are back at the Studio! You need to RSVP if you are planning on coming so I can ensure only two crafters at a time. I have space tonight so please let me know if you are interested in coming to create.

I am still waiting to see if the June Card Class will be held.

It’s Sabbath Sunday! This is the day to rest and recharge.

I know I’m running late because I slept in. Sometimes you have to listen to your body and just take a minute.

It’s almost time.

It’s Sale Saturday! It’s almost time.

When I say “it’s almost time” do you think that it is almost time for the retiring list to be done or do you think that it is almost time for the new catalog? Regardless, both are true.

So if you have anything left on your wish list from the current catalog please don’t wait. You have 3 days left to order from the mini or current annual catalog. Just 3!

And for those of you that can’t wait for the new catalog to begin…you only have 4 more sleeps until it begins! At any time you can give me your wish list, bogo order, or whatever else. I can hold orders up to 7 days so we are within the window. 🙂

For anyone that orders $50 or more in product from now until the 3rd you will qualify to play virtual bingo at the end of the month for FREE! If you do not place an order in time you will need to buy in to play at $25. Yes, there will be prizes. I will get everything to you. All you will need is an ink pad. Even the dauber will be included.

Keep checking in.

It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to give back or pay it forward.

Keep checking in on your friends, loved ones, and neighbors. We are not done with this lock down yet. I don’t know about you but right now seems to be a bit tougher since the rules are changing. No one really seems to know what to do and how to act. I don’t know if it is a case of cabin fever or what. This is why I keep posting about being kind.

We, as humans, have a great chance to show how kind we can be. I have seen some but have experienced much anger and straight up bullying with those that have gotten just a little bit of power.

So I will remind you to be kind. Send some happy mail. Share a smile. Do whatever you can to be the person out of the normal.

Simple card finished with a scavenger hunt.

It’s Tutorial Thursday! Today is a simple card that was created last night on the Facebook Live! It is using the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper that will be available to you June 3. Here are the measurements for this card.

  • Thick Whisper White Card Stock cut at 4 1/4″ X 11″. On the 11″ side it is scored at 5 1/2″.
  • Mossy Meadow Card Stock cut at 3 3/4″ X 5″.
  • In Good Taste Designer Series Paper cut at 3 1/4″ X 4 1/2″.
  • Reverse side of In Good Taste Designer Series Paper cut at 3 1/4″ X 1″.
  • Whisper White punched out with Story Label Punch.

Split those dies.

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended!

Do you ever get a die that you simply think is too big? Do you wish they had made it half the size? Then split it. You heard me. Cut it right down the middle.

Take your Paper Trimmer and cut away. Not only does it make the die look different, but now you can create two cards easily.

Color the darker part on the bottom.

It’s Technique Tuesday! Have you tried the Stampin’ Blends? These are our alcohol-based markers.

For today’s project I colored the sunflower with the light and dark of the Daffodil Delight as well as the Soft Suede. When coloring the center I had the outer ring a bit lighter and the center a touch darker. For the flower I had the base of the petal darker and the tips lighter.

What do you think? Do you like the coloring or do you lean more towards the watercolor pencils?

Memorial Day, Virtual Open House, and More!

I am waiting to see what the future holds for June’s Card Class and even maybe the Rubber Rummage Sale. As soon as I know more I will announce via Facebook and email. Once we go into Stage 3 (hair salons and gyms open back up) then classes will most likely resume.
