Color the darker part on the bottom.

It’s Technique Tuesday! Have you tried the Stampin’ Blends? These are our alcohol-based markers.

For today’s project I colored the sunflower with the light and dark of the Daffodil Delight as well as the Soft Suede. When coloring the center I had the outer ring a bit lighter and the center a touch darker. For the flower I had the base of the petal darker and the tips lighter.

What do you think? Do you like the coloring or do you lean more towards the watercolor pencils?

Memorial Day, Virtual Open House, and More!

It’s Management Monday! Here’s what’s happening this week.

I am closed today for Memorial Day but I want to leave you with something touching for this somber day. Click the link to hear a great tribute to today, https://youtu.be/sWjVo3f5zfM.

If you still need a catalog please contact me ASAP! I will be holding the virtual Open House on Wednesday night during the Facebook Live so you will want your catalog before that.

I am waiting to see what the future holds for June’s Card Class and even maybe the Rubber Rummage Sale. As soon as I know more I will announce via Facebook and email. Once we go into Stage 3 (hair salons and gyms open back up) then classes will most likely resume.

Happy Crafting!

Gauging your recharge.

It’s Sabbath Sunday! This is the day to rest and recharge.

Do you ever take stock on how you are doing while you rest? Do you feel rested? Are you ready to go after you take a break? What do you use as a gauge to know when you have rested enough?

For me it is when I start to feel restless. It is when my hubby comes to me and says so what are your goals for today. It is when my daughter says so what you working on, Mom.

What is your gauge for when you have rested enough?

P.S. If you would like a catalog please let me know ASAP! Wednesday night’s Facebook Live will have a scavenger hunt and prizes. You will need the new catalog!

Cards, smiles, graduation, and a sunburn.

It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to give back or pay it forward.

So yesterday was a day for the books.

I started out and delivered 35 catalogs throughout Yucca Valley, Joshua Tree, and 29 Palms. This is in place of the Open House since it has to be done virtually. Next Wednesday’s Facebook Live will be the Virtual Open House so please plan on attending.

I was so grateful to see all of you even if it was from 6 feet away. The smiles and sometimes tears filled me back up. While doing contact less delivery I do have a tip…sunscreen. Since I stood outside in the open air to deliver I forgot that I haven’t been outside much. My shoulders are feeling it today.

And I came home after 8 hours of deliveries to some happy mail. It couldn’t get better, right?

My daughter decides that tonight is the night that we need to celebrate her graduation. So we jumped in the truck and headed down to Cheesecake Factory to picnic dinner and take some much needed photos. So I would like to share a few with you since you are a part of my crafty family.

Label and sunflower cards.

It’s Tutorial Thursday! Today we are creating two cards. One is something you can create right at home. The other is showcasing new products from the new annual catalog. So, let’s begin.

The label card is a bit different in that it takes the everyday label punch and creates a background instead of just an accent.

For the second card I use the new Celebrate Sunflowers Bundle. The coordinating dies just make this card pop so easily. These will be available for you on June 3. So put it on your wish list. It’s only on page 13 so make sure you leave room for more.

Virtual stamping, bingo, and more.

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended!

I never thought I would see the day where everything has turned virtual. I miss personal contact and hugs for now.

So stamping has gone virtual with online classes, YouTube, and Facebook Lives. I am working on a virtual bingo game for the month of June.

Meetings, school, and so much more has gone online.

What have you seen that is gone online that surprised you? What do you wish would go online that hasn’t?

Use paper instead of ink.

It’s Technique Tuesday! Today’s technique is to use paper instead of ink.

Some days it is hard to get everything together. You’ve ordered what you thought was everything and you forgot the coordinating ink pad. So what do you do? Do you wait another week for it to come in or do you figure it out?

In this case I punched the color from card stock and attached it instead of stamping. I know this won’t always work but for today it did.

So grab a punch instead to create an accent or a background. Then stamp your sentiment in a neutral instead.

Happy Crafting!

Joni 🙂

P.S. Yes, these are the new color bookmarks going out with the new catalogs. Let me know if you would like one.

Stamp of the Week, New Catalogs, Club, and More!

Club order is due by Wednesday! This month’s host is Heidi and her host code is N6RNGB2H. Even if you are not a part of club you can use this host code.

The BOGO sale will be announced next week and will be going virtual as well.

The only event we are keeping in person is the Rubber Rummage Sale. Hopefully I will be able to announce more details soon.

There is still no Open Time but I am here and available for questions, orders, or simply to say hello.

Learning to get the proper tools.

It’s Sabbath Sunday! This is the day to rest and recharge.

Do you ever try to do a project and you don’t have the proper tools so it takes longer, is much harder, or simply cannot be completed? There are things that have been made to make life easier.

For example, Stampin’ Up!’s products all coordinate. If you go to the hardware store you can ask someone which tool will help with which project. And then if you are like me there are a few more trips to come. 🙂

And for today’s focus I want you to look at a chin rest for a violin.

It allows the chin to rest on it without sliding off or someone’s neck having to go completely sideways. It’s a tool that helps everything to stay in line so the musician can create beautiful music.

Remember to use the proper tools to rest. Sometimes that is getting the right thing for the job so you don’t end up with a kink in your neck.

Happy Crafting!

Joni 🙂
