Where the Hole is the Focal Point

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not normally! Today I want to talk to you about using your dies to create holes as accents. Yes, holes. Instead of cutting out the pumpkin, I cut out the outline of the pumpkin. I then stamped the pumpkin behind to createContinue reading “Where the Hole is the Focal Point”

Using Wink of Stella as a painter.

It’s Technique Tuesday! Today we are learning how to add some glitter to your ink without adding two layers. Stamp your accent and then put it aside. Grab an extra clear block and dip in your chosen ink. Then drip just a little of the Wink of Stella on the block also. Stir as desiredContinue reading “Using Wink of Stella as a painter.”

Look at my mats.

It’s Tutorial Thursday! Remember a few days ago how I wrote about the importance of mats and bringing focus to what you want? It’s okay if you don’t, but I thought some of you might remember. So for today I am creating a simple Mother’s Day (this Sunday) or birthday card for you. Here areContinue reading “Look at my mats.”

Cut out for an accent.

It’s Technique Tuesday! Is your card or project lacking that oomph you are looking for? Maybe the answer isn’t to add more…more bling, ribbon, words, stamps…maybe the answer is to add less. Use your punches or dies to create notches or accents for your projects. By doing this you are forcing the eye to gravitateContinue reading “Cut out for an accent.”

Vellum in disguise.

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended! Have you ever used paper to disguise something? I know we often use embellishments to disguise our goofs when leaving a smudge or fingerprint on our paper. But how about using paper to cover? In this case I am talkingContinue reading “Vellum in disguise.”

When canceled stamps become more.

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended! What do you do with your canceled stamps? Do you simply throw the envelope away? In this case take the stamps off and glue to a piece of card stock. Die cut in to a shape and use as anContinue reading “When canceled stamps become more.”

Three textured cards.

It’s Tutorial Thursday!  Today I have three cards for you.  They are all done with the same products but in different ways. The first card was done by running the white mat through the embossing folder and then laying the accent pieces over top. The second card was done by gluing the accent pieces beforeContinue reading “Three textured cards.”

A splash of color to bring out the detail.

It’s Technique Tuesday!  Our embossing folders add so much to the card with texture and depth.  Sometimes there is still a little bit more that is needed.  If you don’t have ribbon then use our Designer Series Paper.  Most of the papers are double-sided allowing you to cut a mat and then accent with theContinue reading “A splash of color to bring out the detail.”

Accents are for more than just cards or tags.

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended!  Do you ever use a product in only one way and never think that it could be used for something else?  I often do this so please don’t think it’s only you. Recently I was putting a bulletin board togetherContinue reading “Accents are for more than just cards or tags.”

Do you remember how to make your punches invisible?  Take a mat and punch out of the middle so you don’t miss it.  Then you have your accent piece that is guaranteed to match and not be missed. Don’t waste your cardstock! Happy Crafting! With inky fingers, Joni 🙂
