It’s Tutorial Thursday! Today we are creating Christmas cards with the Peacock Foils and the Perfectly Plaid paper with the Pine Tree Punch. They are super easy to create and look how fast they come together.
It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward. Do you have a friend that checks on you? Do you have someone that says please call me when you get home so I know you are safe?
It’s a good feeling to know that someone cares about you. It’s an even better feeling when they check on you to make sure you are okay. Who is in your life to make sure you are tucked in at night? Go tell them thank you, call them, or send them a card. Show your appreciation for them to just be “on call”.
It’s Technique Tuesday! It is not impossible to emboss on vellum, but you do have to be careful. You might be tempted to use the low setting on your heat tool and instead you need to use the high. The low will not melt the crystals properly. Instead use the high setting and keep moving the heat tool in order to not burn the paper. If it starts to curl then you need to move the heat.
It’s Management Monday! It’s the last class for the year on Saturday the 15th. I will be teaching how to contain your gifts. There will be one gift card holder. The other two projects will be 3d. Invitation coming today!
On the 22nd I will be at the Farmers’ Market and will also have a drop in time for you to pick up your new catalogs, see what’s new, and create a project.
On the 31st will be the New York New Year’s Eve Party.
If you would like to order from the Year-End Closeout or the Annual Catalog please use host code EMKZNUTC to help Betty. The host code finishes tonight at 9 pm.
It’s Sabbath Sunday! I am taking a breath and getting some things caught up today. My house looks like I have done six events this week. So I will take out the trash, do some dusting, and probably even vacuum some. Then I will get to create and get some long-awaited thank you notes out. It doesn’t sound different than any other day, but it is for me. The phone won’t ring and I can turn the music up and just focus. Don’t get me wrong, I love people, but I don’t get much done since I am concentrating on conversations and whatever else might come.
And the rest of my home sounds different today too. All three cars are in the driveway (until my daughter goes to work in a bit) and my husband is composing some new arrangement of some musical rendition. I love the constant music. Since I am not musical I love it. It’s a good thing I married a musician.
Have you ever stopped to listen to your home? Do you like the sounds created in it? How do they differ from the rest of the week?
It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward. It has been brought to my attention that one of our local places that gives so much back during Christmas (and the rest of the year too) has been hit hard with some changes recently.
Food For Life is accepting donations for toys for the kids. This year Toys for Tots is NOT donating toys to any local non-profits. Therefore any donation of toys would be most welcomed. I am most happy to collect and then deliver so please contact me.
If you know a family that is in need of Christmas toys, please have them call Reach Out Morongo Basin to sign up for one (760-361-1410). The toy will be picked up at the Christmas meal. The first 300 names will be getting toys.
Food For Life will be serving Christmas dinner at Palms Baptist Church on Adobe Road from 3-5 on Saturday, December 22. I am sure they can use all the help you are willing to give so please contact me.
It’s Tutorial Thursday! Since last night’s Live was about the sale and I didn’t create, I made something new this morning. I “quilted” a card for you. I used the Tailored Punch, Cookie Cutter Stamp Set with punch, and the Classic Label Punch. Pick any Christmas paper (here I used the Dashing Along Designer Series Paper) and get punching.
I started in the middle and worked my way out.
After covering the entire mat, I flipped it over and trimmed the excess with scissors.
After trimming the excess I was left with a mat that looks like this.
To finish the card and pull the color of the mat in, I stamped santa and the sentiment with Night of Navy ink. Santa is popped up by dimensionals. Everything else is glued by snail adhesive. Don’t forget the metallic pearls to finish it off.
It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended! Instead of a single product today I figured we would focus on a bunch. I think Stampin’ Up! may have lost its mind since there are three full pages of discounts for this year-end closeout. I know we normally don’t talk sales for Wednesday, but I don’t want you to miss this.
I think the easiest way to find out what is on sale is through pictures so here is the link for all the pictures.
It’s Technique Tuesday! You can mask a project but sometimes the lines get blurred or just don’t come out as clean and crisp as you would like them. Instead of trying to mask, just cut. If you cut your card stock before stamping you are guaranteed a clean edge. You will need a scrap of card stock to create a base to glue the two together again. A ribbon takes care of the cut and creates a cohesive image.
If you want to try this technique then come to Card Class! I am taking RSVP’s for Saturday’s morning session (9-12) and the afternoon one (3-6) until Wednesday night.
