Little things make a difference.

It’s Friendship Friday!  This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward.  Go mail the card!  Call your friend!  Don’t wait.  You never know your timing and how much that little thing is needed.

Here’s a little video on how much one simple act can change a whole day in a bunch of people.

Go make impact!

Happy Crafting!

P.S.  Cheryl, thanks for posting this and being the inspiration to this week’s give back.

An apple a day is for back to school.

It’s Tutorial Thursday and I am here to show you how to create this card!

20180824_151223_wm.jpg

  1.  Cut Real Red Card Stock at 4 1/4″ X 11″.  Score at 5 1/2″.
  2. Cut Vellum Card Stock at 4″ X 5 1/4″.  Run through Big Shot with Basket Weave Textured Impression Embossing Folder.  (For a map of the layers or sandwich to use please refer to page 222 in the Annual Catalog.)
  3. Take scraps of Whisper White Card Stock and stamp the apple three times all with Real Red.  The first time you will stamp off twice and then stamp.  The second time you will stamp off once and then stamp.  And finally, the third time you will just ink and stamp.  This gives the impression of layers.  Then stamp the stem in Mossy Meadow ink.  Cut out the apple with Paper Snips.
  4. Stamp the sentiment from Picked for You (also where the apple is from) in Real Red also.  Then cut out with the medium oval from Stitched Shapes Framelits.
  5. Glue the white pieces to the vellum with Snail Adhesive.  Then glue the vellum to the red base with Snail as well.  Tip:  you will want to stay behind the apple and words so the glue does not show through the vellum.
  6. Attach glue dots to all the corners to prevent the vellum from rolling up.  Then cover with Faceted Dots.

Day 5 of 12 Days of Christmas

Are you getting the hang of this yet?  I hope so.  If not please ask me for clarification.

Since it is Wednesday and sometimes referred to as “hump day” here’s what we are going to do.  Please comment here or on facebook on what product you like the best to make humps.  Let me explain.  What is your favorite Stampin’ Up! product that helps you to create layers, texture, or pop something up?

Each comment will get you 3 tickets.  Good luck!

Accents are for more than just cards or tags.

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended!  Do you ever use a product in only one way and never think that it could be used for something else?  I often do this so please don’t think it’s only you.

Recently I was putting a bulletin board together and remembered that our Big Shot dies can also be used for big things, not just cards and tags.  I forget that the shapes can become pieces of a flag, flower, and so much more.  So, just a friendly reminder to think outside the box and ask if you don’t know what else to do.

Day 4 of 12 Days of Christmas

By now you should have received your Holiday Catalog and hopefully have been looking through it.  What is your favorite that is a must for you?

Comment as many times as you want.  Each comment gets 2 tickets.

An oops becomes a new technique.

It’s Technique Tuesday!  Today’s technique is how to turn an oops in to a new technique.  I had cut the cardstock too narrow for what I wanted to do.  Instead of re-doing the sentiment I chose to run it like it was.  Don’t be scared to run something through even if it’s a little off.  You never know when you may like the result.

Day 3 of 12 Days of Christmas

It’s Day 3 of the 12 Days of Christmas Holiday Catalog Kick-Off!  (say that 3 times fast)

Well, today is the first day of school so I thought we could finish off summer today.  This almost sounds like what your teacher would ask you to write about in English class.  Comment below on what you did this summer and what you are looking forward to accomplishing before the end of the year.  For each person that posts (1 post per person, please) you will get 5 tickets for a chance to win that grand prize posted on day 1.

Happy Crafting!

What’s going on.

It’s Management Monday and there’s a bunch that I am preparing for this week.  Shall we get started…

I’ve already done inventory for all the craft fair items.  (If you are hoping for something to be created please say so.)  This was in preparation of transferring credit card systems that has a lower fee and an inventory system that is in real-time.

I have added to the rewards basket and have added points for more than just supplies.

I am finishing up Serina’s calligraphy class which will have a birthday bonus.

I am packing for the Career Fair on the base tomorrow.  If you are looking for a job contact me for more details on this fair.

Add Card Class, Christmas classes, swaps for OnStage, and on it goes.  I love that this job of mine is as flexible or involved as I need it to be.  If you’ve been around a while you will know that I’ve done everything from a class per quarter to 20 in a month.  I am so grateful that this is such a malleable passion of mine.

If you would like to order online please use host code MFD9GBXR.  If you prefer to order in person simply contact me or drop in for open times today.
