Giving Back for World Card Making Day!

It’s Friendship Friday!  This is the day I encourage you to focus on giving back or paying it forward.  I don’t know if you are aware but the first Saturday in October is known as World Card Making Day.  Since I will be vending at the Gem & Mineral Show at the Sportsman’s Club in Joshua Tree I figured I could give back to you.  Anyone that stops by my booth on Saturday will be able to create a card to send to brighten someone’s day for FREE!  This is my way of celebrating World Card Making Day!  So come on by and share a smile, a stamp, and some ink to create something that will make an impact in someone’s mailbox.

Happy Crafting!

P.S.  See you soon!

Day 7 of 12 Days of Christmas

We are over halfway.  How are you?  I will be catching up on all the tickets this weekend as well as many other projects.  But for today…

Post a photo in the comments section of this blog or facebook post of your happy mail going out today.  Each envelope with a stamp on it gets 5 tickets.  (Please remember to not show addresses.) (If you can’t figure out how to post it then email or text it to me.)

Finding yourself by giving back.

Have you ever felt like you are wandering?  Can’t seem to find your purpose?  Then give back.  I have found that I am the most focused on what I need as well as others when I am giving back.  Not only does volunteering make you feel good, but it also gives you purpose when you wake up in the morning.  There is somewhere you need to be with someone who is depending on you.

There are so many ways to give back.  You can make favors for an event happening locally.  You can mail a card to someone unsuspecting.  You can pay for someone’s coffee, meal, whatever.  You can share a smile.  You can carve out an hour or two and just listen to someone that might need the time.

What is your favorite way of giving back?

Giving back!

I am sure you have heard the news of the volcano erupting on the island of Hawaii.  Well, one of the fellow demonstrators lost her house in this natural mess.  She doesn’t need supplies but she would love some happy mail.  I will be mailing over a package mid June.  If you have cards or projects (with only current Stampin’ Up! product) she needs help.  She will be able to get her supplies back but her blog is suffering.  With the new catalog starting she is at a loss for ideas.  Will you send her a card?

Please have all mail for this beautiful and fellow demonstrator to me by Monday, June 11.  Let’s give back to our own family in need.

They say to walk a mile…

They say to walk a mile in someone else’s shoes to really know what that person is going through.  So today I want you to use your imagination.  Take a deep breath and let your mind wander.

You are walking down to your mailbox.  Day after day you open it up to bills, ads, credit card offers, and what is on sale at the grocery store.  How does that make you feel?  For me it’s just part of the every day.  Nothing unusual.  Just ho-hum.

Now imagine yourself taking that same trip to the box and finding this…

Does this make your day a little better?  Does it stand out from the rest of the junk mail and bills?  Did this put a little bit of a smile on your face?

This is what I received in the mail this week.  I love happy mail!  Thank you!

This is why we mail cards.  This is why we create.  This is why!

I’m off to mail some more cards. 🙂

And here we are again…

I can’t believe it’s Friday again.  This week has flown.  I have sent a few cards out this week with no purpose except to be happy mail.  It feels good.

I have to say this week has been a great week!  It’s Card Class week and I love getting together with you.  You feed my soul and fill me back up.  Thank you for coming out so I can continue to do what I love to do.

Have you focused on giving back or paying it forward?  Don’t wait!  Do it today.  Mail the card, make a phone call, …  It’s never too late until it’s too late.

If you have a cause that you would like cards sent to please comment so I can do some research.

If you have an organization that you would like craft supplies to be donated to please let me know that as well.

Happy Crafting!

With inky fingers,

Joni 🙂
