When the Tailored Punch Grows Tails!

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended! Do you remember me saying that you need to look at your products upside down, sideways, and backwards to get the most use out of them? Well today I am going to show you how to use the Tailored Punch sideways and create a dove tail. Remember to take a minute when you are creating to look at your products and see what else they can become.

How to assemble the new cling stamps.

It’s Technique Tuesday! Instead of a technique for a card or project I am going to share how to assemble the new cling stamps. Be aware that once you place the sticker on the stamp there is no re-positioning. Make sure it is straight and lined up before allowing the sticker to touch. Here are some tips and techniques on how to assemble these new stamps.

  • Pop out stamps and leave rubber in tact.
  • Peel back off of rubber.
  • Find corresponding sticker. Do not peel the sticker off the sheet. Just pull the backing off. Place stamp on to the sticker. Do not place the sticker on the stamp. It is easier to position the stamp and to push the sticker on to the stamp.
Peel back.
Peel sticker.
Place stamp on sticker.
Peel up with sticker attached.
Enjoy your assembled stamp.
Keep rubber to keep stamps placed.

Creating just to create.

It’s Sabbath Sunday! If crafting truly is therapy for you (like it is for me) when was the last time you just created? You didn’t sit down to create a card that you needed to mail. When was the last time you sat down and just allowed your mind to create? It wasn’t for a purpose except to just create.

Sale-A-Bration has started!

It’s Sale Saturday and the Sale-A-Bration has begun! Are you part of it? Do you have your copy of the new catalogs?

If you don’t please contact me so I can get them to you.

On top of the new Occasions catalog and Sale-A-Bration I have a couple of promotions of my own.

First…the paper and/or ribbon shares. Do you want every piece of every new Designer Series Paper? Are you more of a ribbon fan? Then take a look at the new shares and let me know how many you would like.

And last, but not least, the Big Shot Promotion. If you already have the Big Shot you can still take advantage of this promotion. This is good for someone with a large wishlist or a crafter wanting the Big Shot.

If you would like to order online please use host code ZKCAKSPB. This code will be good through Monday night at 7:30 pm. If you prefer to order in person please contact me via email, text, message, phone, or drop in on Monday during Open Times (10:30-12:30 or 5:30-7:30).

Giving back after the holidays.

It’s Friendship Friday and today is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward. I know during the holidays it is easy to give back. People almost expect it. But now it’s time for New Year’s Resolutions and to build the savings account back up. So I will ask you how do you give back when it is not obvious?

I know there is always a need for volunteers in several places. Here’s just a few locally…

  • 29 Palms Community Food Pantry
  • Reach Out Morongo Basin (helping seniors)
  • Concessions at Theatre 29
  • Boys & Girls Club in Yucca Valley

If you would like to get involved please contact me.

Let the paper talk.

It’s Tutorial Thursday! Today is the day that I let the backgrounds speak for themselves. Sometimes I look at a piece of Designer Series Paper and say that is too busy. Instead look at how you can cut pieces out to make accents. It might be too busy as a whole but in pieces it could be beautiful. Or simply let the background speak for itself.

Sometimes the paper is busy enough to speak for itself. So when you look at the paper make sure to look at it as a whole, in pieces, or on its own.

Take your pick is a great pick up.

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended! While the Take Your Pick Tool is intended for picking up things like embellishments and little bits I am not sure it is intended for pulling things out of nooks and crannies. If you have a punched out piece that gets stuck consider using your tool. It grabs it without bending a corner.

Technique Tuesday!

It’s Technique Tuesday! Do you know how to attach a card to a gift bag? Take a piece of card stock at least an inch wider than the card. Then punch a narrow window so the card can hang. Make sure the card matches since it will be a large part of the decoration for the bag.

If you would like to create this project on Friday please drop by Desert Rebel.
