Breaking from the routine.

It’s Sabbath Sunday! Is it possible to break out of the routine? Are you able to slow down enough to rest? For me this is a much needed break. I run about a hundred miles an hour all the time so for me it is a must to force myself to slow down.

So how do you slow down? Do you just automatically do it? Do you have a certain meal you fix? Or do you just run until you have to take a break?

Here’s to getting out of the rut and looking at things from a different perspective.

More Sale-A-Bration Items!

It’s Sale Saturday! There has been more that has been added to Sale-A-Bration in the last few days. Some of the products are now from the regular catalog. This is being called the third release. So there is the first, second, and third release. And don’t forget about the coordinating products.

The easiest way to find everything is to go to my webpage, http://www.jonidaniel.stampinup.net, and click on shop and then sale-a-bration.

Are you feeling a little overwhelmed? It’s okay. It’s our biggest sale of the year!

Giving back to the next generation.

It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward. As you read this I will be standing in front of the students of Yucca Valley High School for a Career Exploration Day. I will be talking to them about how to think outside the box. I will be showing them how to live a great life with a creative career that doesn’t require college or a desk job.

This is one of the many reasons I love Stampin’ Up! It’s independent. I can do what I want (to a point). It doesn’t require a ton of education but just a willingness to learn. And the drive to get things done on your own.

I wanted to give back to the generation coming up. I wanted them to know there were options. I wanted them to be educated from all angles, not just what school was teaching them. So I teach creativity and do fairs like this to show people that it is okay to be different.

What do you do to help the next generation?

How to make all the paper pretty.

It’s Tutorial Thursday! Today I have a video on how to make even the Designer Series Papers you don’t particularly care for better. We all have that one sheet or pattern that is just not a favorite. So stamp over it. Emboss over it. Make it your own.

Here is the video link on how this is done…https://youtu.be/ln_85b190P8.

Dies are for more than paper.

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended! Did you know that our dies for the Big Shot can be used for more than paper? They can also be used to stencil or help cut clay.

In this case I used Paperclay and rolled it out pretty thin. Once it got down to about a quarter of an inch I placed my die on top of the clay and proceeded to gently roll the clay. The die first left an impression and then cut enough so I could peel the clay away.

Protecting your foil.

It’s Technique Tuesday! I wanted to give you a tip on how to protect your foil paper from being marred when being run through the Big Shot.

Take a piece of waxed paper and stack on top of the foil paper. Then run through the Big Shot with a die, framelit, thinlit, or embossing folder. This will give another layer so your foil will not get scratched. (If your cutting or clear plates look like mine and are not so clear this will give a little protection.)

Not much rest here.

It’s Sabbath Sunday! There’s not much rest here today since I took yesterday off. It’s the first Saturday I didn’t have a class or fair in as long as I can remember. So yesterday I went to dinner, ran some errands, and finished the night with a movie. It felt good. So today I have projects to finish, classes to prepare for, and much, much more.

What are you working on today or are you?
