24 hour sale coming soon.

It’s Sale Saturday! The clearance rack is full of great deals and discounts. There are entire bundles reduced or simply a spool of twine for sale. All is while supplies last so don’t wait to tell me.

If that’s not enough the Holiday Catalog is about a third of the way through its season. Some of the backordered items are now back in stock such as the metallic inked pads.

And, last but not least, the 24 hour sale is coming soon! I will have more details on Monday about this great deal!

Fire changes perspective.

It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward. It’s amazing to me how everything can be going so badly and then one little thing can change your perspective.

So recently I have had my truck break, my daughter’s truck break, flat tires, and more. You name it, it has happened. I was feeling pretty down until the news came on last week. The entire screen was nothing but a brilliant orange. You could almost feel the heat just from the picture. It was live coverage of the Saddle Ridge fire.

As I watched the screen I thought “oh, those poor people” and what would I grab if I only had 20 minutes to leave my home forever. And then my husband said something that snapped me into a different awareness. “Isn’t that Grama’s neighborhood?” So now I am looking at the details of each house as the chopper does a spotlight in the dark to capture glimpses of the houses being devoured by this hungry, fire dragon. As I catch photos of lattice work, patios, and stucco I am looking as each frame looks more and more like Grama’s home.

So the next day I call Grama. No answer. And the next day…and the next…and the next. Four long days go by and I finally hear that friendly “llllooo”. I can hear the weariness in her voice but she is back home. And I ask how she is. She is tired but grateful she has something still to clean. Three doors down they were not so lucky. The entire back half of the house was devoured by the dragon.

My problems seemed to fade as the reminder that life is sacred and to be cherished comes beating to the front of my brain. So I will remind you to take time for what matters, or should I say “who” matters.

Remember to put in to those that matter to you.

Getting hammered.

It’s Tutorial Thursday! Today we are creating from the Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folder.

Remember that you want to pay attention if you want the front or back of the folder. If you want an image that is raised you will want the front of the folder where the logo is. If you want an image that is more concave you will want the back of the folder where it is blank or the copyright is displayed.

For this card you will need a Thick Very Vanilla Card Base, Mossy Meadow Mat, Blue Peacock Foil Paper for inner mat, Brightly Gleaming Designer Series Paper with the ornament punch, and ribbon.

Using tape to remove something.

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended! Did you know tape can not only stick things together but it can also take things apart?

If you have ordered the Mercury Glass Designer Acetate then you should know there is a film on it to prevent the foil or metallic from getting scratched. You will need to take it off so the true brilliance of the paper comes through. You can try with your fingers or even a tweezers. The easiest for me is to grab a piece of scotch tape and stick it to the film. Then pull on the tape and the film comes right off.

Becoming part of the background.

It’s Technique Tuesday! When you are not sure if you want something to stand out then don’t let it. Instead glue on your accent and then emboss it. By embossing it you will give the illusion that it is all one piece.

Sunday Supper

It’s Sabbath Sunday! Today is the day to focus on resting and recharging. Do you remember as a kid those Sunday suppers out at Grandma’s house? I do. My Grama cooked for days to make sure that meal was just right.

Did you have a meal that the whole family joined? What was your favorite dish or person to visit with?

Mine was my many aunts and uncles that all met up at my Grama’s house. Grama had the pool and seemed to always be cooking. It wasn’t uncommon to have the American favorites (steak and baked potato) right next to kabobs and stuffed grape leaves. I miss those days where everyone seemed to get along and the hardest thing was straining the seed bits out of the pomegranate juice for the jelly.

P.S. You can still order anything else from the catalogs as well.

Knowing your worth.

It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward.

I want to tell you a story today.

Once upon a time there was a grandson that had just lost his grandfather. He inherited this crusty old watch. It didn’t work, was cracked, and pretty dirty. He thought to himself “why would I get this piece of junk from Grandpa?”.

So he took the watch to a shop to see how much it was worth so he could sell it. The first shopkeeper says it’s worth $5. So he goes to the next one and the next…all say it’s $5. He is pretty disappointed.

As he is sitting down to dinner with his family they ask if he has gone to that jeweler in town. He says no. So the next day he goes to the jeweler. The jeweler takes a minute and brushes the dirt off. He then begins to explain where the watch came from, how old it is, and what value it holds. The watch was worth thousands.

The moral of this story is to know your worth and remember it is often in the eye of the beholder. Make sure that who is giving you advice is someone that understands your beauty and who you are. They see your cracks, dents, and scars as part of your character and not as flaws. Be careful who you listen to.

With all that being said…you are enough. Thank you for being a part of this crazy crafty family. You are amazing and I love you for who you are cracks and all.

Not a card but a trimmer instead.

It’s Tutorial Thursday! Instead of giving you a tutorial for a card or project I am giving you a walk through and review of the new paper trimmer. So take a listen and have a look at our new product coming soon to you.

If you want it before then you need to sign up to be a demonstrator. You don’t need to do all that I do so ask me for more details.

Here’s the link to the video…https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IfuYebNadLM.
