Knowing your worth.

It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward.

I want to tell you a story today.

Once upon a time there was a grandson that had just lost his grandfather. He inherited this crusty old watch. It didn’t work, was cracked, and pretty dirty. He thought to himself “why would I get this piece of junk from Grandpa?”.

So he took the watch to a shop to see how much it was worth so he could sell it. The first shopkeeper says it’s worth $5. So he goes to the next one and the next…all say it’s $5. He is pretty disappointed.

As he is sitting down to dinner with his family they ask if he has gone to that jeweler in town. He says no. So the next day he goes to the jeweler. The jeweler takes a minute and brushes the dirt off. He then begins to explain where the watch came from, how old it is, and what value it holds. The watch was worth thousands.

The moral of this story is to know your worth and remember it is often in the eye of the beholder. Make sure that who is giving you advice is someone that understands your beauty and who you are. They see your cracks, dents, and scars as part of your character and not as flaws. Be careful who you listen to.

With all that being said…you are enough. Thank you for being a part of this crazy crafty family. You are amazing and I love you for who you are cracks and all.

Not a card but a trimmer instead.

It’s Tutorial Thursday! Instead of giving you a tutorial for a card or project I am giving you a walk through and review of the new paper trimmer. So take a listen and have a look at our new product coming soon to you.

If you want it before then you need to sign up to be a demonstrator. You don’t need to do all that I do so ask me for more details.

Here’s the link to the video…https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IfuYebNadLM.

Lids are palettes.

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended! Do you find yourself having to get up to get a plate or dish to watercolor? Well don’t any longer. Use the lid of your ink pad instead and drop ink from the re-inker. (Just remember to wipe it out when you are done with a paper towel or wipe.)

Look at your paper too.

It’s Technique Tuesday! You know how I tell you to look at your products upside down and sideways to get the most out of them? Well, make sure to do this with your paper as well. Sometimes the Designer Series Paper has a natural tendency in the pattern that needs to be detailed and enhanced.

In this case the Mosaic Mood Specialty Designer Series Paper does just that.

So much to do.

It’s Sabbath Sunday! Today is the day to rest and re-charge. Do you ever feel like there is so much to do and so little time? It’s amazing to me when I take some time off (whether it be an hour, day, or a week) my perspective changes on what is really important. So much of what is seen that has to be done right now in fact doesn’t have to be done at all.

So I would encourage you to take a step back and look at your priorities. I had someone very close to me once say “if all else fails…sleep on it”. Your perspective will often change after a nap.

Who checks on you?

It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward. Do you have a friend that checks on you? Do you have someone that says please call me when you get home so I know you are safe?

It’s a good feeling to know that someone cares about you. It’s an even better feeling when they check on you to make sure you are okay. Who is in your life to make sure you are tucked in at night? Go tell them thank you, call them, or send them a card. Show your appreciation for them to just be “on call”.

Sometimes easy is what gets it done.

It’s Tutorial Thursday! Sometimes easy is the only thing that will get it done when you are in a time crunch. If you need a quick favor for Halloween for your co-workers or for your kid’s class then think about the coffin boxes. With some tear and tape and ribbon you are off to the races. (You will probably need some candy too.)

Just remember to give enough time for them to get here. If you are thinking of doing these don’t wait and contact me to order now.

Tape is for more than sticking something together.

It’s Wacky Wednesday! This is the day where a product is used in a way it is not intended! Have you ever gotten glitter into your ink pad? I have. I have scraped, begged, and pleaded to no avail. But I didn’t know this tip at the time.

Take packing or mailing tape and roll it up like you would if you were getting lint off your clothes. Then grab the glitter off the pad much like you would the lint. Here are a couple of tips. Make sure it is the clear mailing tape. Masking or duct tape leave adhesive on the pad. You might want to also have an ink refill handy after you get done cleaning your pad.
