It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward.
Well…the holidays are over. Some of you are bummed that it is all over and others are breathing a sigh of relief. Family, friends, and tons of extra events can be lots of fun. But they can also take a toll mentally and physically.
Here are some tips to keep your sanity during the holidays (and after to recover from them).
It’s Tutorial Thursday! Today I want to show you 6 cards and a card holder with some of the new products from the Mini Catalog as well as the Sale-A-Bration Brochure.
For the watercolor ones you will need to stamp with either a very light color (Daffodil Delight) or with Tuxedo Memento Black Ink. Then fill in with Watercolor Pencils and Blender Pen.
For the One Sheet Wonder cards…
Start with a 6″ X 6″.
Cut with the Paper Trimmer a piece 5″ X 1″ first.
Then cut a section that is 2 1/4″ X 5″.
And finally two sections measuring 3 3/4″ X 2 1/2″ each.
For the organizer or folder…
Start with a piece of card stock that is 8 1/2″ X 11″.
On the 11″ side score at 5 1/2″.
On the 8 1/2″ side score at 2″.
Punch holes on the left and right. Tip: Make sure to go about 1/4″ from the edge so there is enough room left for the cards.
Cut a piece of ribbon approximately 28″ long. Thread through the holes so the cards are held in to the folder.
Decorate the front as wanted.
Here are some photos of the kit and finished project.
It’s Technique Tuesday! Today I want to show you how to use an accent for a focal piece.
In the new Mini Catalog on pages 8-9 there is a Valentine’s Day collection called Country Floral. I want to show you how the hearts in this set can be used with other sets (Adorable Owls in this case) to create a focal piece.
I punched out the heart from the Designer Series Paper and drew a balloon streamer with the Sweet Sorbet Stampin’ Write Marker. I also colored the bow tie to coordinate everything a bit better.

It’s Sabbath Sunday! This is the day to rest so you can be recharged for the week.
I want to tell you a story, a short one, but a story. A little over 5 years ago I was working in a financial office that Joel (hubby) and I owned jointly. We both were pretty stressed out and no matter how much sleep and rest we got we never felt recharged. The tank was empty. By continuing with what we did there was no filling it.
So we decided to let it go. It didn’t make sense due to debt and training and investment and … but for our sakes we let it go. Joel became a full-time musician (bagpiper) and I became a full-time crafter. Now we have had our struggles, but the doubt and stress has nearly vanished. It’s amazing how when you are in the right place at the right time doing what you love life has a different sound to it.
I would encourage you to follow your heart as well. Life is good when you are in the right place.
You can order from the Last Chance List! If you didn’t receive your copy please contact me so I can send it to you. There are exactly 5 days left to shop!

Recently I was looking around the internet and came across an article, 30 Ways to Give Back to Your Community. Many of the points were things I had come across before, but some were new. I’d like to share a few highlights with you.
The easiest way to be happy is to hear about happy things. Did you know there is a weekly newsletter for just that? Go to https://www.goodgoodgood.co/goodnewsletter to sign up for some good news.
Support your local farmers by purchasing produce at the Farmers’ Market in your town.
Donate your work wear so someone in need can get to that interview.
Have a skill? Share it with someone else by becoming a mentor.
Tutor a student. Many students are struggling more with being behind due to the pandemic.
It’s Tutorial Thursday! Today I will not have a tutorial as I am taking the week a bit slower. I will be back next week. So, instead, go explore what I have pinned on Pinterest. You can find me at https://www.pinterest.com/stampingwithjoni/.
