Giving back.

It’s Friendship Friday!  This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward.  Today’s blog post hits home to me because it affects my own.  Here is what is going on.  The marching band program up at the high school where my daughter attends is in jeopardy of not being able to compete due to lack of funds.  So here is how I am giving back.  Anyone that donates $20 or more from now until the end of September will come to the next Card Class for FREE!  If you donate $50 or more you will come to the next Card Class FREE and be invited to the host appreciation.

So here is what you have to do.  Go to Band Site (www.yvhsmusic.com) and donate.  When it says confirmed or submitted take a screenshot and send it to me via text, email, or message.  Basically send it to me privately.  This is your “receipt” for Card Class and the Host Appreciation.

Thank you for being part of this crazy crafty family.

Foam stamps make great cards.

Creating a stamp is not hard.  Creating one that lasts and has great quality…I will leave that to the experts.  If you read Tuesday’s technique post you already know what I am talking about.  For today I will finish the card.

Using foam to make stamps.

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended.  Did you know that you can make your own stamps?  I am not saying to go buy another machine.  I am saying to use what you already have.  So grab your fun foam from the dollar store and your Big Shot.  You will need foam, Big Shot, and Embossing Folder of choice.  Run the foam through in the folder just like you would with a piece of card stock.  Then grab some glue dots and tack the foam to a clear block to create a “stamp”.  Then ink and use normally.

Take Your Pick

It’s Technique Tuesday and I am all about options.  The new Take Your Pick tool gives plenty of options.  You have a spatula, piercing tool, small stylus, large stylus, and a putty end.  If you love the details of bitty pearls, rhinestones, gems, or embellishments then the putty tip will soon be your best friend.  I tried it the other day and it cut my time in less than half to get the little seed pearls on my tufted card.  Just simply press to pick up the pearl and then press on to your desired place.  It’s that simple.
