Half way!

We are half way through the Trick or Treat promotion!  Please remember that any current product order qualifies for the mystery host.  The order does not have to contain shimmer paint or stampin’ blends.  In order to take advantage of the promotion your order has to have the paint or blends.

When brads are used for more than decoration.

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended!  Do you know that a brad can be used for more than a decoration or embellishment?  It can also be used to hold vellum to a card base without any other adhesive.  But today we are talking about brads with a twist.

When using ribbon for an accent on a project it can be glued down straight, knotted, bowed, or even twisted.  Today we are twisting it.  Use the brad after twisting the ribbon to hold it in place.

If you don’t want the ends sticking out simply trim with a wire snips or cutter.

Shimmer paint with an aqua painter.

It’s Technique Tuesday!  You can color the embellishments with the stampin’ blends or the shimmer paints. Simply dampen the tip of the aqua painter and then dip into the paint.

A cushion to rest.

It’s Sabbath Sunday!  It’s my day to rest.  When I googled rest and clicked on images a keyboard pad came up.  It was a rest for your wrist when typing so the angle of your hands changes.  This reminds me that every once in a while I need to change how I do things to see them differently.  Don’t worry.  Nothing is changing, at least until January.

Every December I analyze what has worked and what has not for the year.  If any changes are to be made they will happen in January.  A survey will go out in December to ask you for feedback as I figure out what needs to be re-designed, added, or cancelled.

Just thought you’d want a heads up of what is to come.

Sorting through junk mail.

It’s Friendship Friday!  This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward.  Just yesterday I gave a presentation on the power of thank you notes.  One of the illustrations I used was a box full of junk mail.  This box was full of ads, political brochures, and a local newspaper.  There was one handmade card in the bottom in between all of the circulars.  You should have seen the look on the kid’s face when they found the card.

As she sorted through the box…junk, junk, junk, junk, junk, ENVELOPE, junk, junk.  (You get the idea.)  When she got to that card her whole face lit up.  She was special.   Someone had thought of her.  It was more than a coupon for a taco.  For me it was a great reminder of what joy a card can bring.

This is a nudge that what we do is important no matter how small.  So send that card to bring a smile and a reminder to that recipient that they are special.
