It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward. In the last couple of weeks we’ve done some self care and realized how important it is to take care of ourselves. Now I want to get back to helping in the community.
I recently had gone out to eat and the usual box of crayons came out and a coloring sheet for the young child a few booths down. Do you ever wonder what happens to those crayons? They usually get thrown away. So I started looking around to see if there was a way to recycle them. And sure enough there is an organization that does called “The Crayon Initiative” (https://thecrayoninitiative.org/).
The Crayon Initiative’s mission is to keep crayons out of landfills. They get crayons from all over, sort by color, and melt them down to make new crayons. These new crayons get distributed to children’s hospitals across the nation to help support art. Some of you already know that art is therapy. And now kids can too.

It’s Tutorial Thursday! Today is the day that I show you how to create a candy cane from just circles. I chose scalloped ones but plain ones work too. Cut about a dozen each of the red and white circles and start gluing.

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended! Today we are using circles to create a Christmas card. Yes, Christmas. Did you know that circles, squares, ovals, and basic shapes can build to create just about anything?

It’s Technique Tuesday! Today is the day I add accents to create a nautical look. Take your Layered Circle Dies and create a ring in the Copper Foil Paper to create an effect of a porthole.
Make sure when stamping you have already cut the dies so you can figure out the layout. It would be a shame to do a bunch of stamping that would not be seen.

It’s Sabbath Sunday! This is the day to focus on resting or re-charging. Have you ever googled the word rest? Many of the images that come up are out in the country or in a hammock. The one thing in common is that everyone is staring into open space.
Rest is often a reset. Change your surroundings and allow yourself to escape the overwhelm. Go for a walk. Dip your toes in the ocean. Take a minute and re-group.

It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward. Have you realized that it’s not the big things that break you? It’s usually the littlest thing that drives you to your knees. And, on the upside, it’s the littlest thing that can bring you up out of your pit.
Lately I have been feeling a bit overwhelmed. Too much to do and not enough time. You know how this goes, right? One day, especially, I had decided that it was just too much. I was on the verge of giving up.
Just at that moment Joel (hubby) walks in and sees my head on the table. He doesn’t ask what’s wrong. He just asks me to stand up and then he precedes to envelope me with a huge bear hug. When he doesn’t stop after about a minute I ask him what he’s doing. He simply says, “I am holding you until all your pieces are back together again”.
Who is your rock or person that knows you well enough to just hold you? Maybe it’s not a hug, but it’s a note or a clean house or…
We all need someone to put us back together again.
