Masking with a Window Sheet

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended!

Have you ever masked a project and not been able to see exactly where your edges are? And then when you finish your lines are a bit blurred or mottled. Instead of using a piece of card stock use a window sheet. You will be able to wipe off the excess ink so you can use it again clearly. And when you are using it you will be able to see exactly where the lines are.

Using a Die Backwards

It’s Technique Tuesday! Today I want to show you how to use a die backwards.

For the Candy Canes Dies there is a striped decorative background plate that I had to figure out how to make an argyle pattern. So I cut the Parakeet Party ones normally making sure to place an Adhesive Sheet behind the card stock before running through the Machine.

Then on the Tahitian Tide ones instead of cutting them with the Adhesive Sheet on the back I cut them on the front. That simple flip made the stripes go the other way. Then as I glued them down the stripes were going from right to left as well as left to right. I achieved my argyle look.

Loosening Up the Rules

It’s Sabbath Sunday! This is the day to rest so you can be recharged for the week.

Did you know the definition of relax is …”make (a rule or restriction) less strict while not abolishing it?

So what do you relax on your day off? My routine is still to get up and shower, but with no alarm. And no make-up or clothes that require me to button them. It’s a sweats day with still getting things done, but at a slower pace. The only way I put on my lipstick is if we have plans to go somewhere.

What do you change when it’s your day off?

Operation Gratitude Joins Give Back Box

It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward!

You know how I talk about sending cards to Operation Gratitude? I hope so. Operation Gratitude is an organization that sends care packages to the troops and first responders. But now it has gotten even better. When you need to send a big box to donate to Operation Gratitude you can send it through the Give Back Box program.

What is the Give Back Box Program? It is simply a program that allows you to donate items to a charity for a reduced amount of shipping. And on their side they recycle the box it comes in. They also recycle legos, toys, clothes…pretty much anything you can think of. Any charity can join. But each charity has to guarantee the box gets recycled as well as to not waste with the donation received. Give Back is determined to see more donated and less put in landfills. Where the Hole is the Focal Point

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not normally! Today I want to talk to you about using your dies to create holes as accents. Yes, holes.

Instead of cutting out the pumpkin, I cut out the outline of the pumpkin. I then stamped the pumpkin behind to create dimension or depth. Next time I will also put Dimensionals to attach the inner mat so there is even more dimension.

Texture is Key

It’s Technique Tuesday! Today I want to talk to you about texture. This card may not have a bunch of color but it makes up for it with texture and depth.

For this card I used the Labels Aglow Dies as well as the Layering Circles to get depth and texture. I also put the same color (Early Espresso) for the outer and inner mats. The inner mat has some height thanks to Dimensionals.
