How to Rejuvenate Well Loved Stamps

It’s Technique Tuesday! Today is not so much a technique but taking care of your stamps. I want to share with you how to maintain them.

With the photopolymer stamp sets you wash them when they don’t stick any longer. Grab a small container (so they don’t go down the drain), add some warm water, and a drop of Dawn dish soap. Drop the stamps in the container and let them soak for 5 minutes. Then rinse off and pat dry with a lint-free towel or paper towel. You are ready to go again.

But with the cling stamps it is a bit different. Instead of washing them you use the stamps until they don’t stick to the block any longer. In the old days when this would happen I would use adhesive or Chapstick to stick the stamp to the block. Then I was washing the blocks and wiping off the stamps as best as I could. But now I have a better solution.

I bought a pack of the Cling Adhesive and have used it to bring a few of my stamps back to life. You peel the sticker back off the page and simply place your stamp (sticker side down) into the exposed cling adhesive. When you pull up your stamp you might need to trim a little excess off with your Snips. But then your stamp is brand new and ready to go again.

Let me know if this helps you and if you need a pack of this magic Cling Adhesive as well.

No Procrastination

It’s Sabbath Sunday! This is the day to rest so you can be recharged for the week.

I have learned that if I procrastinate during the week I can’t rest as well on Sunday. I can’t make peace with sitting still. I almost feel guilty because I haven’t properly earned the time to not produce.

Well, this week I definitely feel that I have earned my rest time. So much has happened. I have had change and catch up to do.

So now I am at peace with resting today. Are you?

Volunteer Try-Outs

It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward.

Many non-profit organizations or charities are super busy during the holiday season. As the weather gets colder there tend to be more needs that come up. People get sick. There is more to do during the holidays with all the festivities. And it’s amazing what a warm drink can do for morale on a chilly night.

So I would encourage you to reach out and give a hand whether it be for the season or permanently. Give a place a try and if it doesn’t work out at least they got an extra hand for a bit.

Leaving White Space

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended!

Usually I would advise you to fill your white space with color, embellishments, and the like. But today I want you to leave your white space. Instead put texture so the focus can be on the design itself.

In this sample I have used the Medium Daisy Punch and the Gingham Embossing Folder to apply more texture to the background. When punching the daisy I placed an Adhesive Sheet behind so it was easy to peel and stick afterwards.

Here’s the close up so you can see the background better.

I was thinking this would also work well with the Deer Builder Punch.

What ideas do you have? When you create with this idea please post your finished projects on my page, https://facebook.com/StampingWithJoni.

Colorizing Black & White

It’s Technique Tuesday! Today I want to show you how to colorize black and white paper.

I’ve taken the Perfectly Penciled 12″ X 12″ Designer Series Paper and colored it.

You can use a Sponge Dauber, Blender Pen with ink or colored pencils, Blending Brush, and I am sure a few more. For this sample I have used a Blending Brush along with the inks Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen.

You can streak the color, spotlight it (only do a small shape), or color the entire paper. Whatever your choosing this is another option to get color on your paper.

If you create with this technique please post your creation on my page, https://facebook.com/StampingWithJoni.

With Rest is Work

It’s Sabbath Sunday! This is the day to rest so you can be recharged for the week.

Just recently I have had a couple of friends that have had surgeries to fix past injuries. They are now recovering. But I am reminded that with things getting fixed comes patience, time, and effort to make that new part stronger.

This comes with rest, proper exercise, and following the doctor’s orders.

I know for me I have to remember that my inner pride needs to step down and listen to the experts. And more so, take the advice and actually do something with it.

What are you rebelling against and not doing what you are supposed to?

Happy Crafting!

Joni 🙂
