Sequins and glue.

Have you ever used sequins?  How do you glue them on to your project?  Usually they end up glued on to me.  Well, after January 3rd you don’t have to worry about this any longer.  Stampin’ Up! now has adhesive-backed sequins.  Isn’t that great?

Come take a look at what’s new on Sunday at the New York New Year’s Eve Party.  If you are out of the area or can’t make it please just say so and I will send you a catalog.

Coloring is for adults too.

In case you haven’t heard…coloring is not just for kids, it’s for adults too.  And our new Stampin’ Blends do a great job.  Not only do they color on cardstock and on rhinestones as displayed a few weeks ago.  But they also go over existing color.  So if you bought the wrong color family of embellishments you can fix that.  Here’s a pack of the enamel shapes being colored from yellow to red.

Be looking for the finished card on Thursday’s blog post.

Remember to use all of your tools to make the most of the supplies you have.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Change your scenery.

Sometimes rest is getting out, changing your scenery, and trying something new.  This last week my family took the RV out to Vegas (including Shadow my wonder poodle) and we took a minute to re-connect.  We did things we never thought we would.  (This is not one of those moments that the phrase “what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas” applies.)

We learned about atomic bomb history, rode a double decker bus to see the sites, and finished the week with an 11 story tall zip line experience.  And I say experience.  It was a great ride.  The kind of ride that you yell through and then take a breath in to start again.  What a rush.  And yes, I would do it again.

So get out and enjoy life.  Sometimes all you need is the rush of cold air on your face and a good steak to get things back up and running again.

Christmas Sales!

I just got back from being gone the week and I missed all of you.  It was great fun but I have to say that I miss my “work” and fellow crafters.  So let’s celebrate me being back behind my desk (crafting or blogging).

Get 15% additionally off any Christmas stamp set, embellishment, or ribbon.  If it says “happy holidays” (or anything similar) or is red and green from now until Tuesday night I will take off an additional 15%.  This is only through me and only available as an in-person order.  That means no online orders.  You have to contact me to get the additional 15% off.

I am available today and Tuesday via phone and any time via e-mail, text, or message.

To order online please use host code WUR7D3CD through Tuesday night.

Solstice happiness.

From the title you probably think I have lost my mind.  With the winter solstice happening yesterday that means the daylight hours get longer now until June 21.  If you’re like me and run on what seems to be solar power then you know how hard it is to be productive when it gets dark at 4:30 in the afternoon.  I am so grateful that the days are now getting longer.  This means more natural light to stamp and not have to guess on shading, shadows, and coloring.

How will you use your extra minutes?  How will you give back or pay it forward?

I am in the process of going through my supplies to see how I can re-organize to better use my creative time.  If you have tips or tricks please leave a comment.

Punches can be a puzzle.

Our punches can also be used as a puzzle.  The Everyday Label Punch fits much like a puzzle does.  So when you can’t think of what to do for a background use a punch.

Bone folder does more than crease.

A bone folder can be used to flatten creases in cardstock but it can also be used to curl the edges to create gorgeous flowers.

Just remember a tool can be used for many things, not just what it says on the instructions.

Sometimes crooked is the new straight.

For those of you that have attended any of my classes you will often hear me say “stamp first then punch”.  If you stamp it crooked you can still punch it crooked too making the end result straight.  Just a little technique for you that will come in handy for this Thursday’s card.
