No sales today.

It’s Sale Saturday! It’s weird to say this, but there are no sales today. The Online Extravaganza finished last night so there is not much to talk about for promotions today.

Instead I will say if you place an online order please use host code GGVKYJQA. If you prefer to order in person please contact me. For every $50 or more order I will give you the choice of real red curly ribbon or shaded spruce and gold striped ribbon for FREE! This host code will be good through Wednesday at noon.

And then I will talk about what is coming up this week. I will be open for Open Studio Time on Monday.

This week is a normal work one for me except on Wednesday I will be closing at noon. I will be closed on Thursday and will be decorating on Friday for the Christmas party. I will be answering the phone on Friday and replying to messages but would appreciate no drop-ins. This is all to get ready for the Christmas party on Saturday. Drop in any time from 10-1 on Saturday.

If you would like to create and have a treat please let me know that you are coming!

Focusing on what I want.

It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward. Today I want to talk to you about how to rewire your brain or change how you think.

I’ve been doing some research on why I tend to focus on the negative. It’s how I’ve trained my brain. So then I started looking at how to re-train how I view things. There are tons of articles, videos, and podcasts for this one subject. But one video really stood out to me. It stood out because it was short and concise. There wasn’t a ton of science for me to get lost in. So I would encourage you to take a look…https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1pqPKDu19hU.

So for now I will start with a photo and three things I am grateful for every day. I don’t know about you, but I want to be happier. I want people to see me as uplifting and not someone who complains.

What are you working on today?

Speckle backgrounds without the mess.

It’s Tutorial Thursday! Today I will show you how to create a speckle background without the mess.

For this card you will need a card base cut at 5 1/2″ X 8 1/2″. On the 8 1/2″ side score at 4 1/4″. The Merry Merlot card stock mat is cut to 5 1/4″ X 4″ and attached with Snail Adhesive. The Whisper White card stock inner mat is cut to 5″ X 3 3/4″ and attached with Snail Adhesive. Before attaching take your Merry Merlot Stampin’ Write Marker and flick the ink on to the background. Then attach.

Cut out the deer from Detailed Deer Dies with Gold Glimmering Paper. Attach with Dimensionals. The Gold Gems are from the Christmastime Suite.

Using dimensionals to keep ink pads wet.

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended! Today we are talking about Dimensionals helping to keep our ink pads wet. No, I have not lost it. Yes, my trip to Vegas was good, but not that “good”.

So especially with the Staz-On ink pads (or anything else that has that inner lid) you can use a Dimensional to keep the outer and inner lids together. This will keep your fingers cleaner and also the seal will be a bit tighter which prevents the pad from drying out as fast.

Splatter background without embossing.

It’s Technique Tuesday! Last week we talked about embossing by spritzing a piece of card stock and then adding embossing powder. This week we are talking about creating a splatter background without the water or embossing.

Take a Stampin’ Write Marker (not the Blends) and make a flicking motion with the cap against the tip. That motion will release ink to create a splattered background.

If you want to see this technique in motion please plan to join me tomorrow evening at 7 pm for Facebook Live. Here is the link for the page…http://www.facebook.com/StampingWithJoni.

Rest without guilt.

It’s Sabbath Sunday! This is the day to focus on resting and recharging.

I have to remind myself that is a good thing to take a day off. As I sit in Las Vegas after OnStage my mind is full of new ideas. I have taken the time to write a bunch down and now I wait. I wait for orders to come in and I wait to get back to the studio to begin to design. As I wait I remind myself that is a good thing to take time off.

In the past I would take time off and feel guilty for resting. Afterwards I would wonder why I would feel so tired all the time. I now have learned to allow myself to rest. It is a reward for putting in the work. But I think the biggest key is that the work needs to be put in.

A rest day after a week at the gym feels so good. A rest day after I have skipped working out does not give the same satisfaction. So I am reminded to put in the work both with my family and in my studio.

What are you working on so you can enjoy your rest?

Getting ready for Christmas cards!

It’s Sale Saturday! Since I am at OnStage I figured I would run my own promotion to get you thinking about your Christmas cards. I know it’s been hard to get in the spirit of things when it is still over 80 degrees on most days here in the desert. But we are 6 weeks away from Christmas so it is time to get going (me included). So, are you ready?

Here is the promotion…

  • When you place an order online, via email, phone, messenger, text, whatever before Monday night at 7:30 pm you will get FREE product! Do I have your attention? All right…let me give you the details now.
  • You place an order of $50 or more before tax and shipping.
  • In that order you need to have at least one pack of card stock. It can be thick card stock, any color, designer series paper, or one of the 6X6 stacks. Just paper.
  • You will get a free pack of envelopes from me upon delivery of your order. If you order online I will send them with your thank you note. Please specify whether you want white or vanilla.
  • For every $50 and pack of paper you will get a pack of envelopes for FREE! So if you order $120 worth of product and 3 packs of paper you will get 2 packs of envelopes from me.

Not only am I running the envelope promotion but I am also making someone the host. If the group order totals $150 then I can choose a host. If you place an order at $50 or more you will be eligible to be randomly chosen as the host. I will be contacting you on Monday evening to choose your FREE products!

If you would like to order online please use host code EFKBYR3U. Right now the host is me, but will change when a mystery host is picked.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me. Please remember that I am in session for OnStage and I will get back to you as soon as I am available.

Give out what you want to come back.

It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward.

Do you ever wonder why your life is full of drama? Full of loving people? Full of kindness? Full of …????? I have learned that what often I am doing or being is what I attract. So if I am stressed I will attract people or friends who are stressed. If I am calm then I will attract people who are at peace within themselves. Now this isn’t always the case, but I have found that it often is.

So I will challenge you to work on yourself if you don’t see the kind of people you are hoping to surround you. Educate yourself through articles, books, podcasts, and more to learn how to transform yourself.

For example, when I first started Stampin’ Up! I was quiet and did not know how to communicate what I wanted. I know I wanted to eventually be a leader in the company as well as within my own group. I knew I wanted strong, confident people around me. So I started reading and subscribing to many blogs, pages, etc. I started reading success.com, female entrepreneur, and many more. I asked Stampin’ Up! for a business coach. It takes time and effort to change, but it’s worth it.

What are you working on?

Snowy backgrounds with water.

It’s Tutorial Thursday! Today is the day we create a snowy background with water. No ink, just water.

So first you will need your card stock. If you are following the sample you will need a thick white card base, night of navy mat, and whisper white card stock for the snowman. Take your night of navy mat and spritz with water. Sprinkle white embossing powder on the card stock and heat. Stamp your snowman and punch out. For further details please watch the video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Evm5S8n5Kd8.
