P.S. Don’t forget about the clearance rack too.

How are you?

It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward.

My focus is on you today. Yes, you. How are you?

I don’t know about you but I’ve been riding the roller coaster of hope and grief. Some days I think surely this is a bad dream. Come on. Wake up! Other days I am looking outside into the beautiful sunshine and being grateful to be healthy, alive, and ready to conquer whatever comes my way.

I have to say I am grateful for you being here, reading this, and belonging to this crazy crafty family.

What are you grateful for?

Using Wink of Stella to watercolor.

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended!

Today I am pulling out the Wink of Stella and using it to watercolor. So grab a Whisper White, Watercolor Paper, or Shimmery White mat. Mine is cut to 5″ X 3 3/4″. Choose your favorite color and stamp an image with our Classic Ink Pads. Yes, they will smear. That is the point.

Now take your Wink of Stella pen and squeeze to get it going. You will want to squeeze until it is about to drip. If it drips then you have extra and don’t have to squeeze next time. Now just barely touch the stamped images and you will get to float the ink where you want.

On the card on the left I just did the border of the image. On the right I filled only a select few flowers. Which do you like better?

Small punch outs for big looks.

It’s Technique Tuesday! This month’s Paper Pumpkin kit came in and had a bunch of extra punch outs. So I was trying to figure out how to use these bonus pieces.

So I figured I would just grab the extras and see what happens. Have you ever done that? Just been creative?

Missing you.

It’s Management Monday! Here’s what’s happening this week.

There’s still not much going on, unfortunately. I hope this changes soon.

I have posted events on the calendar through July so please scroll up and click on “upcoming events”. This will allow you to plan and have something to look forward to. (And hopefully I don’t have more dates to change.)

Thank you to those that have ordered from the retiring list. Please remember that these items are while supplies last. If you need further instruction on how to order online or the current host code please contact me.

Please save the date for Monday, May 4 for the next Stamp of the Week! I will be announcing the featured stamp set later this week. The invitation will go live on Monday, May 4 (next week) and will run through Saturday, May 9. I promise it won’t be Star Wars themed.

Peace of mind helps with rest.

It’s Sabbath Sunday! This is the day to rest and recharge.

I don’t know about you but I have time to be rested, but it seems to get harder and harder to feel completely rested as this quarantine mess wears on. I find my mind racing as the unknowns seem to stack up. The rules keep changing and I haven’t seen a certain end to this yet. And just as I get hope that things might let up someone says that we might be dealing with this in the fall. Sometimes I feel like throwing my hands up and running away, except that’s not allowed right now.

So what do you do to find a little peace of mind so you can rest? Here’s a list of things that might help you.

  • Read.
  • Craft.
  • Meditate.
  • Pray.
  • Have faith.
  • Cook.
  • Don’t compare yourself to others.
  • Listen to music.
  • Have sex.
  • Punch a heavy bag.
  • Limit sugar.
  • Turn off the news.
  • Take a walk.
  • Walk barefoot outside.
  • Get back into a routine.
  • Schedule time off.
  • Resist guilt.
  • Don’t overthink decisions.
  • Adopt an attitude of gratitude.
  • Get enough sleep.

Giving back through music.

It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward.

I have written in the past about how to mail a letter, pay for coffee, volunteer, and so much more. With many businesses being shut down (including my husband’s and mine to an extent) I have watched behaviors and attitudes. Let me explain.

When loans were being handed out for small businesses many were applying that shouldn’t have been. The money was gone in a second since there was a loophole that was found. Many of the larger businesses gave the money back after realizing what had happened, but some didn’t.

So through this pandemic I have learned to watch before I make a decision. Look at where things are manufactured, how attitudes play out, and if the loophole or easy way is being sought out.

I would encourage you to be mindful of where you shop, eat, and play. In times of crisis our true colors are shown.

P.S. I would like to feature a business that is giving back so if you see something good please contact me. Are you wondering where is the music? Here it is. Joel, my hubby, has been every day for the month of April playing a sunset song of the day. He is in different places of our town every evening at 6:45 playing a song on the bagpipes. If you would like to listen please join him tonight at 6:45 on his Facebook page, http://facebook.com/MarineSandpiper.

A card in technicolor!

It’s Tutorial Thursday! Today we are painting in technicolor or neon. Are you ready for bright and cheery? Well, here we go.

First you will need a piece of Thick Whisper White Card Stock cut with the Paper Trimmer to 4 1/4″ X 11″. On the 11″ side you will score at 5 1/2″. This is your card base.

Second, trim a piece of Granny Apple Green Card Stock to 4″ X 5 1/4″. Attach with Snail Adhesive. This is your mat.

Third, trim a piece of Basic Black Card Stock to 3 3/4″ X 5″. Ink your stamp from the Ornate Style Set with Versamark Ink. Stamp and then quickly sprinkle generously with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Use the Heat Tool to melt the powder or crystals. Once cool then color with Stampin’ Blends on the white only. After coloring then attach with Snail Adhesive to mat.

And last, but not least, take a scrap of the Granny Apple Green Card Stock and stamp your sentiment (Butterfly Gala Stamp Set used here) with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Trim with Snips and attach to inner mat with Mini Dimensionals.

For complete instructions please see the video at https://youtu.be/EgI-wdjxmyQ.
