Today’s technique is a tiny bit different. I am using the Stamparatus to create a wreath, the ultimate in positioning. Here’s how to do it in pictures and then explanation. Create a template using a 6×6 piece of cardstock. Take the largest plain square from the Layering Squares Dies and cut a square from theContinue reading “Using the Stamparatus to create a wreath.”

Some tips for the tufted embossing folder.
I bet some of you are looking at the catalog and asking yourself how to line up the cardstock in the Tufted Embossing Folder so the image is not crooked. There is a line to help with that and it works. I took some pictures to help with this. This sample is using the goldContinue reading “Some tips for the tufted embossing folder.”
Coordinating embossing powder with a background.
It’s amazing how a background pops when there is an accent that coordinates. In this case the Grapefruit Grove is subtly daubed on to the background. The coordinating embossing powder ties it all together. Tune in tomorrow night at 7 pm for the Facebook Live on the Red Door Crafters’ Page. I will be creating thisContinue reading “Coordinating embossing powder with a background.”
Simple details to complete a card.
It’s amazing to me how a different color of cardstock or a different pattern of designer series paper can make a card look so different. Paper can make a card or project appear masculine, feminine, or somewhere in between. So before you throw away that project that just doesn’t seem to want to come togetherContinue reading “Simple details to complete a card.”
Tiled stamping.
This is probably the only time you will hear me say this. Punch first and then stamp. Yes, punch first. Then lay your punches end to end and stamp as if it was one piece. This will create a tiled look. Stay tuned on Thursday to see the finished card. Happy Crafting! With inky fingers,Continue reading “Tiled stamping.”
Putting texture on texture.
Sometimes even the most beautiful paper needs a boost. I dropped about a dozen drops of Grapefruit Grove ink in the spritzer and filled the rest with water. I then took a box so my whole craft room didn’t have ink on it. I placed the piece of wood textured paper in the box andContinue reading “Putting texture on texture.”
It’s the simple things.
Sometimes a paper is so detailed that there is not much that needs to be done. Take the Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper on page 189. It makes card making so easy. Add a cute accent and you are all set. For the tutorial go to last week’s Facebook Live or You Tube. Remember thatContinue reading “It’s the simple things.”
Backgrounds become texture.
Sometimes adding a little bit of a background can make all the difference in the world. It can make a dull card or accent become an amazing piece. For this tag I used our new Stitched Labels Framelits Dies and the coordinating stamp set. Happy Crafting! With inky fingers, Joni 🙂
Inlaid detail.
Sometimes the details are what matter. For this technique you need a framelit (outline die) and a matching detail die. If you don’t have a matching one you can use a bigger detail one and overlay to get a similar look. Make sure to cut the framelit out first. Then lay the cut out downContinue reading “Inlaid detail.”
Outlining while punching.
Have you ever wanted a clean line around the edge of your punched image? If you sponge after you just seem to get the whole image inked? Try outlining the image before you punch. Here’s how… Grab a piece of cardstock and stamp whatever image you want. Place in punch but do not cut. GrabContinue reading “Outlining while punching.”
