Sometimes backwards is the right way.

I was the kid that walked to school backwards just because I could.  And my Mom was saying the whole time “please turn around so you don’t trip and fall”.  Well, that was the first time.  By the end of the treck she was telling me somewhat forcefully to “walk right”.  Well, I didn’t die, trip, or even break a bone.  Now I am not saying to defy Mom, but I am saying that sometimes backwards is the correct way.

In the case of our glimmer papers backwards or upside down should be your only way.  Flip that shiny side down and then trim.  The glimmer (or glitter for some) dulls your blade on your trimmer much quicker than other cardstock.  (While I appreciate you ordering we don’t need to hurry the process.)  So flip it over next time.

An oldie with a twist!

Sometimes it’s good to go back to the basics and then put a tiny bit of a twist on it.  Today’s tutorial comes from SplitCoastStampers.  We have all done the shaving cream backgrounds, but have you done them with a stencil or die cut.  So, here’s something to try…

If you would like to try this in a class please comment and tell me.

Sundays are for sleeping?

Sometimes your body says “sleep, please”.  After days of preparation and cutting for yesterday’s class I think it caught up to me.  My body said no more.  So, I’m in my pajamas writing this and enjoying the slow morning.

Are you having a restful day?  Comment below with what you are doing today (either words or photos) and get double reward points today.

Bingo, promotions, and more!

As I sit to type this the smell of taco meat is permeating the walls.  I am getting ready for the first Christmas Stamp-A-Stack of the season.  There will be two this year, today’s and another on October 28th.  We had three last year and a few crafters said that was too much.  So, two it is.

Now to get on with the promotions going on right now.

If you would like to order (not anything in the Holiday Catalog) then please use host code NZC66EF7 or contact me.  This code is good through Monday night at 9 pm.

I am taking orders (beginning today) for the Holiday Catalog.  There is no host code until the 1st and know that nothing will be submitted until the 1st.

If you would like to play Bingo on Saturday, September 16th at 5 pm please let me know.  Pre-pay tickets are $10.  If you are out of the area and want to try your luck I will play for you.  We will make this work.  Here is the promotion part of this.  If you buy a ticket for Bingo or donate $10 then your shipping is FREE for all orders for all of September.  So, if your wish list is over $100 it is cheaper for you to buy a ticket for Bingo then pay shipping.  Also, if you donate at least 5 non-perishable food items then you have your choice of one pack of either dimensionals or mini dimensionals.  Limit of one.

I hope that’s enough to keep you going.  I am off to finish for today’s Stamp-A-Stack!  Happy Crafting!

Cards matter…

I recently came across a post from one of my friends that has a daughter that has some challenges, but loves cards.  Her birthday is coming up and I am mailing out some cards for her.  I am wondering if for this give back Friday if you would do the same.  The information is below.

Ballpoint pen embossing

You heard me correct.  Don’t go clean your glasses.  I said embossing with a ballpoint pen.  There is enough “juice” in a ballpoint pen to spread the embossing powder quickly and then use the heat gun.  So, for some that want our sayings to be different, you can do it now.  You just have to be pretty quick with getting that powder on the cardstock.  It’s the same technique as stamping but just use a pen.

Cling wrap for the craft room?

I bet you are wondering if I have lost it completely.  Well, I have another tip for you from the kitchen.  Take that cling wrap and cover your shirt to not get paint, ink, food, whatever.  When you are done just peel right off.

This might just save you enough time to actually drink that glass of wine. 😉

C.A.S.E. daily

Do you know what C.A.S.E. stands for?  Copy And Share Everything.  Give credit where it’s due but share.  So, for today’s tutorial I will present something from Splitcoaststampers.  Now, if you would like to see this in a class please comment and let me know.  It will not be exact.  I am asking about the technique not necessarily the actual card.

Back to the grind…

Well, as you are reading this, school is back in session and I bet about half your house has already been cleaned.  Either that or you are still sitting back enjoying the quiet.  For those of you without school-aged kids, you are probably slightly annoyed that the school zones are back in session.  Whatever the reason is, for me it’s always time to craft.  So here’s what’s going on this week.

If you would like to order the host code until 9 pm tonight is JARXVDC4.  If you would like to order, but not on-line, contact me.

Drop in times are from 11:30-1:30 or 6:00-8:00 today.  If you want to try a product, need help, or simply want to stop by please do!

open time

You have a couple days to let me know about the Stamp-A-Stack.  Have you told me that you are coming?
