Stampin’ Blends

Today’s tutorial is all about the new stampin’ blends.  These are Stampin’ Up!’s new alcohol markers that are awesome!  They are available November 1st (next Wednesday).

Here is a cute card using the blends and a picture guide on what to do.  So…let’s get started.

Step 1:  Stamp with Memento ink.  This will allow for no smearing.

Step 2:  Get out a light and dark of the same color as well as the color lifter.

Step 3:  Color as desired.  I started with the darker color and left a blank space for the highlight on the right side of the balloon.  I used the color lifter to bring some texture and depth to the balloon.

Step 4:  Finish coloring.  Notice the shading.

Step 5:  Attach balloon with dimensionals.  (I used the technique from a few Wednesdays ago.  This is the one that used the tip of the aqua painter to make the edges roll down.)  Mat and finish the card by stamping an appropriate greeting.

Today is for rest, finally.

Today is the first day in many weeks that I’ve put my feet up.  It is time to rest, finally.  What are you up to today?  I hope you’re having some fun.

I am in the craft room, doing a little cooking, a couple loads of laundry, and maybe washing the truck (long overdue).  Yes, this is rest to me.  It’s time to get things back in order after running like crazy.  And then I will be back at it.  Sometimes you need a second to breathe, re-group, and come back stronger.

Weddings and more.

As I sit here typing I start thinking about what I have to get done today.  Today is one of my dearest cousin’s wedding.  I don’t often have an excuse to get dressed up any more.  It seems that everyone has gone very casual or maybe it’s just where I live.  So today I will clean up and drive to enjoy an evening with family and friends.

This to me is a reminder that even though life gets more casual there are still touches that are important.  I love sending happy mail.  To make it a little easier to craft I will remind you of the sales going on.

Until October 31st much of the Designer Series Paper is buy 3 get 1 FREE!  For more details please comment.

Also, my personal promotion runs through October 31st as well.  The first one that orders $150 of product or collects $150 in orders will receive as a bonus the Merry Patterns stamp set.  This is in addition to the FREE host items.

If you would like to order online please use host code VZQRF9KE until Monday at 9 pm.  If you prefer to order in person please contact me.

And we are back to Friday again.

I can’t believe how quickly this week has gone.  Quite a bit has happened this week which is probably why time is flying.  Bought a vehicle, dog went to the vet, travel plans changed for OnStage, created over 20 cards, coach calls, and more.  Yes, this is just this week.  Actually it’s been only in the last couple of days.  Does this sound like your week?

This is a reminder that life gets busy.  And in an instant it can all change.  Remember to bless those around you that might have woken up ready to conquer the world and by lunch have been eaten.  Mail that card, take someone to lunch, call…whatever it might be for you.  Create your ripple.  Give back.

Here’s to creating with impact.  Happy Crafting!

Alcohol markers coming soon.

If you didn’t hear on the Facebook Live last night I announced that the alcohol markers are coming back!  Stampin’ Blends will be available starting November 1st.  To view the video please go to https://youtu.be/pdpcREmx2Xc.

So today’s technique is using alcohol markers and showing how to highlight properly.  This is something I need to practice too. 🙂

Give it a try.  The directions are on https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/coloringtransparentobjects/.

Paper is for more than cards.

Did you know that our Designer Series Paper, Cardstock, or Specialty Paper can be used for much more than just cards?  It can also be used with the envelope punch board to create boxes, bags, tags, cards, and more!  It’s limited to your imagination.  If you need help designing something outside of your box please let me know.  That’s what I am here for.

Any luck with the eclipse card?

Have you had any luck with the eclipse card?  Does it blend a little too much?  Then take a cut out of the base mat as well to get a little more depth.  Here’s a link to the full instructions, https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/twotiereclipse/.

Forging the future.

It’s Monday again!  It’s time to start planning the weekend again. 🙂

In Stampin’ Up! world there is not a ton going on since I will be out of town on Saturday for a wedding.  This is my week to create and catch up.  There is a whole lot going on this weekend locally.  This is Pioneer Days weekend!

On Friday night Joel will be playing from 6:45-7:15 followed by the Buck & Boe show.  I know Joel is good but I’ve also heard the other guys are something to see.  Saturday there are plenty of events and Sunday winds it all up.  For a list of events check out the local Chamber of Commerce’s website or facebook page.

Save the date for the last Christmas Stamp-A-Stack on October 28th from 10-3.  Invitations coming in the next day or so.

If you would like to order there is an order being submitted tonight at 9 pm!  Please use host code BVHSJQU4 if you are ordering online or contact me before 9:00!

Sundays are for porches.

Since I don’t seem to be getting very many days off I will not be writing about rest much.  Instead today I will be focused on a porch.  Imagine sitting in a swing on the porch watching the world go by as the breeze gently nudges you while you sip your tea.  All right, I know…this is not the world I live in nor do I choose to.  But I can dream, can’t I?

So today I will be sitting under an awning at the 29 Palms Art Gallery (kind of like a porch) and participating in a craft fair until 2:00 pm.

If you stay in your craft room instead please don’t forget to post pictures of your creations to the Facebook page.
