Not here just for sales.

Recently my daughter began to drive.  We signed her up for driving lessons.  We paid the fee, received a receipt, and the driving instructor showed up to begin the lesson.  It wasn’t about the money.  It was about her learning to drive.

I say this because I don’t ever want you to feel that I am here just to collect orders.  I want it to be more than that.  I want you to pay your fee, but most importantly, I want you to learn.  Learn how to do something new.  Learn how to laugh again after a tough week, month, or year.  Learn that a creative mistake can be easily fixed.  I want you to think of me as a coach that keeps stress levels in check, helps with the creative process, or simply is here to laugh with.

I am here for you.  Please ask questions.  Please share a laugh.  Creating is so much more than just the fee.  I want you to be free enough to create impact through creativity.  Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your creative journey.

Black magic technique updated.

Do you remember about 5 years ago in class we learned the black magic technique?  We stamped on black cardstock and used the white gel pen to accent the stamped image.  This gave an almost 3D look.

This technique has had an update.

Emboss like normal with the versamark pad, white embossing powder, and the heat gun.  After heating and letting cool take your stampin’ blends and gently tap on the powder to apply color.  You do not want to color like normal.  The embossing powder has texture and will fray your tips so just gently bounce or tap the color in.

Post your creations with this technique on the Facebook page and get reward points.

If you would like to order to create this project simply contact me.

Time change.

If you’re like me this time change always messes with me.  I feel like I am right on time but yet I am late.  I have the feeling this will be how things are for the next few days.  Are you joining me?

So instead of stressing out, I will be late for a day or two.  You are not going crazy.  You didn’t miss anything.  I chose to rest and not be crazy about this mess.  How are you resting today?

Giving back…

I’m writing this a little late since I am just getting back from having breakfast with a friend.  Some days you just need some french toast and a good friend.  No one else is going to take care of you except you.

This has been a trying week but also a great one.  As I try to wrangle through how to set up a website and a virtual shop I was reminded why I am doing this.  It’s you!  I started to stress out about how to code things, how they look, placement, etc.  But I have had card class this week.  It’s the people.  It’s you.  If I can reach a few more crafters so they can get their therapy then it is all worth it.  It may not be up as fast as I wanted, but it’s worth it.

So without you realizing it I will say thank you to you.  You filled me up this week and reminded me of my why without you even realizing it.  Now go mail a card, take someone to lunch, share a smile.  Whatever you do, do it.

Lucky the Leprechaun has visited!

Last night’s Live I created two shamrock cards for the upcoming St. Paddy’s Day.  One was using the pear out of the mini fruit punch set.  The other was using the itty bitty heart from the cookie cutter punch.  Regardless of which you choose to create you will need some glue dots and a good pair of tweezers or the piercing tool.  If you have questions please comment, message, e-mail, or call.

Painters defeat envelopes.

Did you know that the aqua painter can be used to seal envelopes?  Just take the aqua painter and fill with water.  Squeeze the barrel and swipe along the glue strip.  Seal and mail your card, invitation, etc.

Here’s to making crafting easier and no more papercuts on your tongue.

Pears can be clovers.

As St. Patty’s Day comes closer I always start to look for cute cards.  This is one of those holidays where I don’t usually buy a specific stamp set but I still want to create something for it.  Did you know that the pear punch in the mini set becomes a leaf for a clover?

Join me on Thursday to get a look and full instructions of the completed card.
