Giving back!

I am sure you have heard the news of the volcano erupting on the island of Hawaii.  Well, one of the fellow demonstrators lost her house in this natural mess.  She doesn’t need supplies but she would love some happy mail.  I will be mailing over a package mid June.  If you have cards or projects (with only current Stampin’ Up! product) she needs help.  She will be able to get her supplies back but her blog is suffering.  With the new catalog starting she is at a loss for ideas.  Will you send her a card?

Please have all mail for this beautiful and fellow demonstrator to me by Monday, June 11.  Let’s give back to our own family in need.

Small items become part of a larger whole.

Yesterday we talked about how glue dots can become a focal point for grouping sequins.

Well, today the finished card appears from these groupings.

If you don’t know what to create simply group small things and make it happen.

Here are the directions:

  1. Grab a white thick piece of cardstock.
  2. Cut in half (at 4 1/4″) and score (at 5 1/2″).
  3. Stamp a sentiment using Blueberry Bushel ink.
  4. Make groupings of sequins using glue dots.
  5. Adhere to card.

Enjoy and mail!

Glue dots can be used to group items.

Just when you thought the mini glue dots were small and they couldn’t do more, here is another idea.  Take your paper piercer and place a glue dot at the end of it.

Then stick small sequins to the end of it.  Now you have a cluster of sequins instead of placing them one at a time.  Stay tuned tomorrow for the tutorial for a card on this technique.

It’s the simple things.

Sometimes a paper is so detailed that there is not much that needs to be done.  Take the Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper on page 189.  It makes card making so easy.  Add a cute accent and you are all set.  For the tutorial go to last week’s Facebook Live or You Tube.

Taking a day off.

I am taking the day off like many of you.  I know it’s weird but I am checking out.  I am working on some things so don’t be alarmed if you see some activity from me, but for the most part I am not working today.  So, no open times today please.  I will be back at it tomorrow.

On Wednesday there will be no facebook live as there is one more school meeting that I have to attend.

But, on Friday, I will be at the Methodist Church vending at their Parking Lot Sale from 9-1.

Be watching for some fun contests starting tomorrow and leading up to when the catalog goes live on June 1 (Friday).

If you would like to place an order online please use host code DTRJJFJN which will be good through May 31.  If you prefer to order in person please contact me.

Resting sometimes means sleeping in.

Did you notice I am a little late this morning?  I decided to sleep in and take it easy.  Once in a while a break in your routine is a good thing.  Life is not always meant to be scheduled but also to be lived.  How do you intend to live today?  What makes you wake up in the morning?  For me, it is often you.  What can I create to help you to be more creative?  If you have a certain something that you don’t know how to do or wish someone would think through the template for you, tell me!  I am working on new classes as I type.

Here it comes!  Are you ready?  The new annual catalog begins in 7 days.  Just 7 days!

So here is what is going on.  The retiring list is all while supplies last.  If you need something that is retiring either order online or call me quick.

If you would like a copy of the new catalog I will be at the Farmers’ Market in 29 Palms today from 8-1.

P.S.  I will be closed in observance of Memorial Day on Monday the 28th.

Giving back to those who give so much.

Did you know our local theatre in 29 Palms is all run by volunteers?  They are trying to update and expand to provide better quality shows for you to enjoy.  So today’s give back is to consider attending this event to help this organization to evolve and stay relevant.  So mark your calendars for June 23 and let me know if you need help getting tickets.

Here’s an explanation of what will happen…

This gala performance event, including a catered dinner, will be held on Saturday, June 23rd, and will serve as a fundraiser for the Theatre 29 Building Expansion Fund. The City of Twentynine Palms has approved designs for a major expansion, which expands the theater from the current 95 seat capacity to 148. The plans also call for a fly loft and rigging to be able to utilize backdrops and rear projections, expanded Green Room and Dressing Room space, and additional and updated bathroom facilities.

Reserved tickets for the dinner and show are $25.00 each and are available online at www.theatre29.org or by calling the Theatre 29 Box Office at 760-361-4151.

Consider helping and let me know if you want to sit together.

Cute tags for jars.

Today’s tutorial is all about tags.  Tags can be used for gift bags, jars, or even an accent on a card.  These tags were made for the VIP night on Tuesday.  To become a part of the VIP night you need to host at least once this year from June to May.  Here’s how to create this tag.

P.S.  Here’s a bonus…the video from last night.  Facebook Live Video on Details

Stamparatus is more than a positioner.

Did you know that the Stamparatus can be used for more than a positioner?  Have you ever needed a third hand to tie that bow?  Now you have one.  Since the magnet is so strong you can tuck the ribbon under and tie your bow.  It’s easy to get things done.  I just haven’t figured out how to put a jar down so a ribbon can be tied around the bottle.
