Using a shredder for cards.

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended.  Did you know your paper shredder can be used for more than destruction?  It can also be used for making things.  So the next time you need shreds for that box you are sending, padding for the bottom of a basket, or even confetti in a card think of your paper shredder.

If you keep every bitty scrap after you’re done punching or stamping then send them through the shredder to make your own confetti or shreds.  Just make sure to clean out your shredder before using it to create anything decorative.

Embossing paste adds cool touches.

It’s Technique Tuesday!  Did you know a little bit of embossing paste can add just a hint of snow or a tiny bit of texture?  If you can’t afford to buy all the different colors of embossing paste then just get the one with no color in it.  You can then separate it out and add bits of glitter or a tiny bit of shimmer paint (or re-inker) to create a different look.

Resting with girlfriends.

It’s Sabbath Sunday!  Sometimes the best way to re-charge is to check out with a few girlfriends and be a tourist.  So today I am taking a tour of the Orchid Nurseries, the Gem Show, and grabbing lunch.  What do you do for fun?

Giving Back for World Card Making Day!

It’s Friendship Friday!  This is the day I encourage you to focus on giving back or paying it forward.  I don’t know if you are aware but the first Saturday in October is known as World Card Making Day.  Since I will be vending at the Gem & Mineral Show at the Sportsman’s Club in Joshua Tree I figured I could give back to you.  Anyone that stops by my booth on Saturday will be able to create a card to send to brighten someone’s day for FREE!  This is my way of celebrating World Card Making Day!  So come on by and share a smile, a stamp, and some ink to create something that will make an impact in someone’s mailbox.
