And sometimes it’s our own…

Since today is the day I focus to give back or pay it forward I want to share where my efforts will be going today.  One of our own, Kate, had surgery this week and I would like to lift her up.  I will be mailing at least one card to her shortly.  If you would like to send her a card please drop or mail to me and write on the back of the envelope “Kate”.  I will put your card in the package I am sending mid next week and get everything to her.

Thank you for giving back in whatever way you have chosen.  Together our ripples can make an impact.

Happy Crafting!

P.S.  If you have cards for Vegas I will be mailing those on Monday.

Heavy metal without your ears hurting.

Today’s technique is brilliant, quite literally.  You take the negative space of the die to create a frame.  Instead of worrying about the stickiness that is left behind you place the cutouts to create an inlaid effect.

The link for the video is https://youtu.be/ajVnCPs4xbU if you would like to see this card being created.

Here a couple of tips for you.  First, have a good pair of tweezers handy.  Second, if you do get adhesive residue on the foil paper take a cotton swab dipped in alcohol and gently wipe the glue off.  Third, if you are concerned about marks on the foil paper you might want to have a newer set of cutting pads on hand.

Happy Birthday Meets Reindeer!

Did you know that the scraps from your die of your Big Shot can become a new creation?  Take the Birthday Thinlits…the scrap from the top of the die becomes an antler for a reindeer.  Remember to look at things upside down and sideways.

A box with a different shape.

Not all boxes are square.  They are usually not a sphere but they can be many different shapes.  Today’s box or container is a triangle.  This box is especially sturdy considering it is all cardstock.  Give it a try.

Is Monday managing you?

There was a lot of activities this weekend and I feel a bit run over.  Football game, homecoming, two day craft fair, three concerts,…  So I am doing a bit of cleaning today.  I will still have drop in times but just know that I am not my usual tidy self.

Here is what this week looks like.  Card class is this week.  Thanks to all that rsvp’ed.  I will see you shortly.

On the 28th we will have our last Christmas Stamp-A-Stack.  16 cards and lunch!  Invitations will be out some time this week.

I think that’s about all I can handle.  How are you doing?

If you would like to order online please use host code 7B4MVN6M.  If you prefer in person please contact me, especially if you have a free shipping voucher or gift certificate.

Sunday is a day for beauty.

Usually is my day to rest, but I am finishing up the Orchid Festival until 3!  Come out and see the rows and rows of orchids.  The beauty of each flower and the smell is divine.  If you decide to rest please do some for me.

What happens in Vegas…

Not everything that happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.  After much processing and research I have an idea.  There is a fellow crafter that is collecting cards for the families of the victims.  I will be sending a box of cards to her on October 16th.  If you would like to participate please drop off or mail cards to be received no later than the 14th.

Please, if you have a special way of giving back or paying it forward comment below.  I am always looking for new ideas.

How to create a silhouette.

During this time of year a silhouette is important.  So grab your dazzling diamonds glimmer paper and get going.  Cut a circle with your dies to create the moon.  Then punch the cat out.  Remember to sponge the moon with coordinating colors.

Clouds are not just for the sky.

Today is one of my favorite themes, Wacky Wednesday.  I love looking outside the box to see what else we can create with a product.  Today the cloud from “Up and Away” becomes a hole for a tag punch.

Here is the finished tag with this!

Remember that the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch matches with the stamp set Half Full.

If you create today please post to the Facebook Page.
