Are you resting for me?

Is that possible to transfer rest?  I have been going non-stop and today is the last of it.  Tomorrow is time to pack the other house and see some things.  Remember in this crazy season to take care of yourself.  No one else will or can.  It will help you to be present for the moments you don’t want to miss.

So, how do you take care of yourself?  Please post in the comments.

Sometimes it’s the little things.

Sometimes it’s the little things that make or break you.  It’s your husband getting up with you before 5 am because you have a craft fair to set up for.  It’s one of you crafters that makes me feel so special by creating and then mailing it.  I’ve gotten some amazing happy mail this week.

So don’t forget to mail your creations.  Or make effort to hand them to someone.  It’s that little bit that can make or break someone.  Now go give back!

P.S.  Don’t forget to stop by the Continuing Care Center today for the last craft fair!

It’s your inside that counts.

Following Tuesday’s theme of finding out what is down at the core of your cardstock is a finished card that looks awesome (in my opinion)!  I bleached early espresso cardstock and found that there was an undertone of yellow.  The burlap ribbon is pulled a bit to give a rough look.  The boots were stamped in early espresso ink and then a blender pen was used to pull the color throughout the boot.  Then, to finish the look, the boots were die cut with Stitched Shapes Framelits.  Inside is stamped “thanks for everything” from All Things Thanks.

If you created today please post a photo of your masterpiece.

When Christmas ribbon becomes Valentine accents.

Don’t throw away your Christmas ribbon.  That red ribbon becomes a great accent for Valentine’s Day.  Start thinking outside the box.  Just about anything allotted for Christmas can be re-purposed for Valentine’s Day.  Remember to look sideways, upside down, and backwards at your supplies.

Getting to what is inside.

The difference between cheap cardstock and quality is easy to tell.  You need to rip a corner off or take some bleach to it.  This will allow you to reveal the inner core.  Cheaper cardstock is often not dyed all the way through so the core has a white color instead of being consistent all the way through.

With Stampin’ Up! cardstock I find it interesting to spritz bleach.  Then you see what the color blend is.  Some colors have a yellow undertone, some more of a blue or red.  In the case of early espresso there is a slight yellow undertone as seen below.

Sundays are for rest and fun.

Today I am taking a minute to go see a play or musical with a girlfriend and not stamp.  Meet Me in St Louis is playing at our local theater and I am ready.  Are you resting today?  Having fun?

Make sure that you take care of yourself.  If you don’t then patience wears thin and health is soon to follow.

Giving back sometimes needs to be for you.

Do you ever feel that you give and give and give and it never seems to come back?  It could be that our outlook is not focused on what is coming back or it could be that you need to fill up your tank.  You need to take care of yourself.

In this busy time of year don’t forget to sleep enough, eat right, and move a little.  Take care of yourself.  So today, maybe, you need to take a minute for you and not be focused on others.  You’d be surprised how a nap or a quick trip to the gym can change your outlook.

So instead of giving back to someone else take a minute for yourself.  You will be surprised how a little in your tank brings more patience for others and a change in perspective.

Joni 🙂
