The shift starts with you.

I challenge you to search online and type in the search box “give back” or “pay it forward” then place a comma and your hometown.  See what comes up.  As I have lived in a few places thanks to the Marine Corps I looked up a few.

Some talked about programs that were helping the children, homeless, whatever.  Some talked about how an individual had done some great deed.  Some talked about leaving blessing boxes.

And then there is my town.  What came up was shocking.  Lawsuits and who has to pay back who.  This was all the way from the government down to individuals.  After clicking to the second page only then did I see how the ASYMCA was doing a give-away for the kids.

Some would say to give up hope.  By not finding much just encourages me to do more.  A small ripple in a pond with no waves makes a huge impact.  Let’s start making waves.

If you have ideas on how to make waves please comment, message, or contact me.

Snowflakes aren’t just for Christmas.

The Swirly Snowflakes can be used for more than just Christmas.  The border framelit can be used for a great edge to create just about any type of card.  In this case it is for a wedding.

Any punch can be made a tag.

Did you know that you can create a tag out of just about any punch?  Well, you can.  I’ve taken a few photos to help with the process.

First, you want to use your trimmer or cutter to cut your cardstock just barely wider than the punch.

Second, you want to fold at the score line and insert into the punch.  Make sure the scored or folded side is past the cutting surface of the punch.

Third, and last, punch!

If you create a tag from a punch please post a photo in the comments.

Giving back with laughter.

Today is the day we focus on giving back or paying it forward.  Sometimes the best way is to share a smile or a laugh.  So I thought for today we could do something silly.  Find your name and comment below.  I hope this brings you a giggle today.

Dancing pandas.

One of the new stamp sets for Sale-A-Bration is Party Pandas and is being used to create this cute card.

20171227_200227_wm

Take a piece of thick white cardstock cut in half and scored in the middle to create your card base.

Cut a piece of basic black cardstock at 4″ X 5 1/4″ to create the first mat.

Trim a piece of the petal passion designer series paper at 3 3/4″ X 5″ for the second mat (bamboo look).

Grab a scrap piece of white cardstock to stamp the panda in basic black ink and happy birthday in real red.  Die cut the panda from stitched shapes and punch happy birthday from the everyday label punch.

Notice from Tuesday’s post that the red heart (originally yellow but colored by the stampin’ blends) is incorporated into this card.

If you have any questions please comment or contact me.  Enjoy!

With inky fingers,

Joni 🙂
