How to roll with your aqua painter.

Some of our tools have more than one use thankfully.  Here’s how to use your aqua painter for more than just painting.  Before you start you will want to make sure that the plastic is smooth on the end without the cap.  If it’s not then grab a nail file or some fine grit sandContinue reading “How to roll with your aqua painter.”

Aqua painter is not just for painting.

Have you ever stuck an embellishment or accent piece on with your dimensionals and you can see the edges of them sticking out?  Then get your aqua painter out.  No, I haven’t lost my mind.  I did just say aqua painter.  The top of it or the rounded end is perfect for giving a bitContinue reading “Aqua painter is not just for painting.”

Messy but fun.

Outlines make things stand out.

Take a normal card with a normal stamp and then outline it.  Do you see how different a little bit of marker can make a card look? So next time things are looking a little bit dull take a pen to it. Happy Crafting! With inky fingers, Joni 🙂

Stamping is not just for paper.

Remember to think outside the box.  You can stamp on more than just cardstock.  Recently I ran across an idea to stamp on wood to create those signs that it seems everyone is doing right now.  If you stamp on glass with basic black you will want to take a heat gun to fully dryContinue reading “Stamping is not just for paper.”

Boxes out of envelopes.

Did you know that our tools have multiple uses?  For example, the envelope punch board can also be used to create boxes.  I found a perfect tool to be used to find out what measurements were needed to create a box.  Go to http://thecraftyowl.co.uk/boxbuster/ and keep it handy.  This is awesome!  And here is what IContinue reading “Boxes out of envelopes.”

New technique…turning paste into fluff!

On last night’s Facebook Live I turned embossing paste into fluff!  You take a heat gun to it until it changes texture. With practice this becomes very realistic.  You can see the difference between my first attempt on the card and my second on the stocking.  The only tip I have so far is toContinue reading “New technique…turning paste into fluff!”

Creating and having fun.

Just a couple of cards that were created yesterday that I thought I would post here. The Christmas one was created with embossing paste that is dried with a heat gun until fluffy. The birthday card is using the Quilt Top Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on page 5 of the Holiday Catalog.  It uses theContinue reading “Creating and having fun.”

Stamping with all things.

Some days you intend to stamp and other days every day items become what is used.  Don’t be afraid to look outside of the catalog.  Today’s tool is a wine glass, specifically the bottom of the glass.  I am thinking this and a few other “techniques” will become an oops class.  But for now startContinue reading “Stamping with all things.”

An oops is a creative opportunity.

Have you created a card and at the last second you tip over your water bottle and it is now a watercolor?  Not all oops’es are mistakes.  They are usually just creative opportunities.  This card was created with a mistake in mind. Take a saucer and pour some wine in it. The bottom of theContinue reading “An oops is a creative opportunity.”
