Breaking up paper.

It’s Technique Tuesday! If you have a piece of Designer Series Paper that is not your favorite then here is what you do. Cut it in to small pieces to create candles for a card. Then color with the markers or use the blender pen. Happy Crafting! With inky fingers, Joni 🙂

Starting off the paper.

It’s Technique Tuesday! When you are coloring start off the edge of the paper. This allows you to not have a dot or starting point. With the daubers it is especially important to not start on the page. Happy Crafting! With inky fingers, Joni 🙂

Using a border punch for an accent.

It’s Technique Tuesday! Today I am using a border punch to create an accent. So grab your Braided Border Punch to make a border, a cross. or a climbing vine for flowers. Today we are using the punch to create a cross. Insert the card stock in to the punch. You will want to goContinue reading “Using a border punch for an accent.”

Cut out for an accent.

It’s Technique Tuesday! Is your card or project lacking that oomph you are looking for? Maybe the answer isn’t to add more…more bling, ribbon, words, stamps…maybe the answer is to add less. Use your punches or dies to create notches or accents for your projects. By doing this you are forcing the eye to gravitateContinue reading “Cut out for an accent.”

When in doubt use more texture.

It’s Technique Tuesday! When using the die cuts don’t be afraid to cut them out of something other than paper or card stock. The dollar store thin foam (sometimes called fun foam) is great for dies. You can stack a few together as well. Today’s image is actually from this month’s Paper Pumpkin kit. HappyContinue reading “When in doubt use more texture.”

Grab your spoons.

It’s Technique Tuesday! When using your DistINKtive stamp sets make sure your ink is just right. Let me back up…do you know what a DistINKtive stamp set is? One example of one of these sets is the Timeless Tulips. So what makes it DistINKtive? You can stamp it once and get almost a 3D kindContinue reading “Grab your spoons.”

A little dab will do you.

It’s Technique Tuesday! Today’s technique is more of a tip. When gluing on little bits you may want to bring the glue to it and not the other way around. In this case I was gluing on little tiny pupils for eyes on the ladybug. I brought the Multipurpose Glue down to where the littleContinue reading “A little dab will do you.”

To get a different look make it inlaid.

It’s Technique Tuesday! To get a different look make it inlaid. When using the Painted Poppies stamp set and coordinating dies make them inlaid. Instead of having a detailed flower sitting on top of your card that could rip or catch think about cutting out a space for it to lay evenly with the restContinue reading “To get a different look make it inlaid.”

Using a bag for a mat.

It’s Technique Tuesday! For those of you that do not get the Paper Pumpkin monthly kit this time consisted of mini note cards with envelopes and some cute treat bags. I saw the treat bags and just had to have those on a card. So I cut on all sides to separate the seams andContinue reading “Using a bag for a mat.”

Not everything lines up.

It’s Technique Tuesday! Today’s tip is to offset when you can. Usually we mat with hopefully straight and even lines but today we are not doing that. We are still lining up evenly but the accent is offset as if it it coming off the page. I figured this technique out when I was frustratedContinue reading “Not everything lines up.”
