Messy is just the detail you want.

Sometimes messy is exactly what you need.  There’s a time and a place for detail work but there’s also a time where you need to be able to smear and just enjoy.  This piece was created with pear pizzazz and calypso coral with two sponge daubers.

Sundays are a break in the routine.

While Sundays are usually restful in this house it is also a welcome break in the routine.  Normally everyone is home and not working or going to school.  It’s usually a day where dinner is not hurried and finally finished around 9 pm.  So today, for me, it’s a quick trip to the grocery store to get some wings that hubby will cook and some other appetizer things.  If you don’t know me an appetizer dinner or happy hour meal is one of my favorites.

What do you do to break up the routine?

They say to walk a mile…

They say to walk a mile in someone else’s shoes to really know what that person is going through.  So today I want you to use your imagination.  Take a deep breath and let your mind wander.

You are walking down to your mailbox.  Day after day you open it up to bills, ads, credit card offers, and what is on sale at the grocery store.  How does that make you feel?  For me it’s just part of the every day.  Nothing unusual.  Just ho-hum.

Now imagine yourself taking that same trip to the box and finding this…

Does this make your day a little better?  Does it stand out from the rest of the junk mail and bills?  Did this put a little bit of a smile on your face?

This is what I received in the mail this week.  I love happy mail!  Thank you!

This is why we mail cards.  This is why we create.  This is why!

I’m off to mail some more cards. 🙂

Home is where your mess is.

Some think home is what you show people. To me it’s where I am comfortable and can make a creative mess.

What’s your mess look like?

Sometimes easy is what it takes.

I have done advanced cards, tutorials, classes, and more.  But sometimes keeping it simple is what it is all about.  Sometimes the card just needs to get in the mail.  Don’t always do a fancy fold.  Sometimes it’s the handwritten portion that someone will treasure.  So today I am encouraging you to keep a kit on hand whether it be from Paper Pumpkin, the catalog, or one you have put together.  I want you to be able to create a card quickly.

Here are the photos from last night’s facebook live as well as the link to youtube.  Enjoy and go create!

Crafty friends are the best.

Have you been so overwhelmed with a project that you just can’t even start?  This is where your crafty friends come in to play.  Contact that fellow crafter and have them help you.  If nothing else you can grab some take-out, have some good laughs, and get some cutting done.  You will be closer to finishing than before.

So next time the pity party invitation gets sent please rsvp no.  Call a friend and start taking some bites out of that elephant.  Before you know it your happy mail will be stamped and out in the box.

Blends go just before the line.

If you’ve played with the new Stampin’ Blends then you probably already know this.  Do not go all the way to the line.  An alcohol-based marker tends to bleed a bit so leave a tiny bit of white space before the line.  You can always go back and fill it in but you can’t do much if it floats past that border.  And if you’re stamping with the blends please use a memento ink pad.

Here’s the finished example while leaving a little wiggle room.
