Sometimes failure brings rest.

It’s Sabbath Sunday!  Have you ever been so stressed about something that finally coming to the end of it is a relief?  Whether you succeed or fail you are just glad it is over.  And then you seem to sleep for days to get over the ordeal.

This is how it is in my home with my daughter.  Every time there is a big test at school, drama with a good friend, or a competition for band she gets a little on edge.  Once the ordeal is done she is just exhausted.  She seems to sleep for days on end.  After a day or two then she is back to “normal”.

So what are you stressing about?  What’s just finished that you might be mentally or physically exhausted over?  How do you process what just happened so you can continue?  For me, the answer is usually to create.  This allows me to check out.

Knowing your strengths.

It’s Friendship Friday!  This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward.

There are so many ways to give back.  The ways to help stretch as far as your imagination.  But, I will warn you, sometimes you have to know your strengths.  Let me give you an example.

I have an acquaintance that got their car stuck in the sand.  I can help by sharing the message, but I wouldn’t go pull him out myself.  I know I don’t have the right equipment, strength, or knowledge.

Knowing when to help or not to help are valuable insights.  Remember if you can’t help you might be in the way and hinder the progress instead of assist.  Just a thought as we go about this day.

Quick treat holders.

It’s Tutorial Thursday!  Here’s a quick idea for you when you get in a rush for those thirty school treats that need to be done the night before.  I know it’s crazy but we are back in session and rolling.  My brain is still rebelling against the whole routine but I know I have to get back in the groove of homework, marching band, wrestling, jazz, fundraisers, concerts, and more.  It’s painful but we can do it.

So, here’s the picture of these cute treat holders.

Shimmer paint as more than paint.

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended.  Did you know that the new shimmer paint in the Holiday Catalog can also be used to create a misty background?  Just grab your stampin’ spritzer and fill 3/4 of the way with rubbing alcohol as it dries faster than water.  (You can also use water.)  Then drop in the shimmer paint until the desired color shade is reached.  You can also mix this with ink from your refill bottles as well.  Now you can create a shimmery background with minimal effort.
