Following Tuesday’s theme of finding out what is down at the core of your cardstock is a finished card that looks awesome (in my opinion)! I bleached early espresso cardstock and found that there was an undertone of yellow. The burlap ribbon is pulled a bit to give a rough look. The boots were stampedContinue reading “It’s your inside that counts.”

When Christmas ribbon becomes Valentine accents.
Don’t throw away your Christmas ribbon. That red ribbon becomes a great accent for Valentine’s Day. Start thinking outside the box. Just about anything allotted for Christmas can be re-purposed for Valentine’s Day. Remember to look sideways, upside down, and backwards at your supplies. Happy Crafting! With inky fingers, Joni 🙂
Getting to what is inside.
The difference between cheap cardstock and quality is easy to tell. You need to rip a corner off or take some bleach to it. This will allow you to reveal the inner core. Cheaper cardstock is often not dyed all the way through so the core has a white color instead of being consistent allContinue reading “Getting to what is inside.”

How to emboss on foil cardstock.
Dry embossing on foil cardstock can be a little tricky unless you like the cracked, distressed look. I found to take at least one of the cutting plates out of the stack or sandwich and shim it with a few pieces of cardstock works the best. Basically when you start to push the stack throughContinue reading “How to emboss on foil cardstock.”
Embellishments in disguise.
Embellishments are not just to pretty things up. Sometimes they are used to hide a fingerprint, smudge, or even a glue dot. In yesterday’s class a crafter used a glitter enamel dot to hide the bump from a glue dot. Don’t think your card is ruined until you have tried everything. Happy Crafting! With inkyContinue reading “Embellishments in disguise.”
Embellishments as the focal point
On a card there is usually a focal point. There is usually something that catches your eye. It can be a technique, a decorative paper, movement, or even something as simple as an embellishment. For this card the technique is fairly simple except that the “o” is heightened by an embellishment also known as aContinue reading “Embellishments as the focal point”
