How to Rejuvenate Well Loved Stamps

It’s Technique Tuesday! Today is not so much a technique but taking care of your stamps. I want to share with you how to maintain them.

With the photopolymer stamp sets you wash them when they don’t stick any longer. Grab a small container (so they don’t go down the drain), add some warm water, and a drop of Dawn dish soap. Drop the stamps in the container and let them soak for 5 minutes. Then rinse off and pat dry with a lint-free towel or paper towel. You are ready to go again.

But with the cling stamps it is a bit different. Instead of washing them you use the stamps until they don’t stick to the block any longer. In the old days when this would happen I would use adhesive or Chapstick to stick the stamp to the block. Then I was washing the blocks and wiping off the stamps as best as I could. But now I have a better solution.

I bought a pack of the Cling Adhesive and have used it to bring a few of my stamps back to life. You peel the sticker back off the page and simply place your stamp (sticker side down) into the exposed cling adhesive. When you pull up your stamp you might need to trim a little excess off with your Snips. But then your stamp is brand new and ready to go again.

Let me know if this helps you and if you need a pack of this magic Cling Adhesive as well.

Happy Crafting!

With inky fingers,

Joni 🙂
