It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward.
Some days you have to read someone’s mind to find out what they want and some days they come out and tell you. Well, today is your lucky day. I am going to come out and tell you. There is a veteran asking for Valentine’s Day cards and we can do that!
This veteran is 104 years old and survived World War II. He also happens to be a scrapbooker.
If you would like to send a Valentine’s Day card to this gentleman please mail it to:
It’s Tutorial Thursday! Today is a bit different as there are four cards I want to present to you. They are all from the Happy Birthday to You Stamps and Dies. The coordinating dies are now available so let me know if you would like your own set. So for today I will give you a photo of each card and some tips. For full instructions please watch the video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSmFbdOJT1k&t=20s.
The first card is a monochromatic card with a touch of Wink of Stella to blurry the flowers and give a little softness to the front. The Blueberry Bushel mat is embossed with the Subtles Folder.
The second card is double matted with the gold foil paper embossed with the Subtles Folder as well. Everything is embossed with Gold Embossing Powder and cut with the coordinating dies and the Rectangle Stitched ones. This card is mentioned in the video if you need more details.
The third card is colored with the Stampin’ Blends and trimmed to fit the gold pedestal. This one is on the video.
And last, but not least, this card is water colored with the Aqua Painter. Stamp your design with the Versamark Pad. pour Clear Embossing Powder, and then heat with the Heat Tool. Make sure to prime your paper with clear water before coloring with ink.
It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended! If you don’t like how something looks in color go to black and white. And if you still don’t like it then go the opposite or the negative. Instead of stamping the bees in black I stamp them in white and emboss on a dark paper.
So when you think it doesn’t look right go the opposite.
It’s Technique Tuesday! Today’s technique is more of a tip.
When gluing on little bits you may want to bring the glue to it and not the other way around. In this case I was gluing on little tiny pupils for eyes on the ladybug. I brought the Multipurpose Glue down to where the little black dot was instead of trying to pick it up with tweezers, the Take Your Pick Tool, or even my fingers. It was going to get lost otherwise. Then after getting some glue to it I took it off with my fingers and placed it on my project.
Here’s what this looks like.
If you would like to create this lady bug, a frog, and two cards then please reserve your seat for Heidi’s class.
It’s Management Monday! Here’s what’s happening this week.
Betty hosted last Saturday and her order was supposed to close tonight. Instead we are closing it on Tuesday night so if you want some of the new coordinating dies you can get them. Be watching for the email on Tuesday morning about the new dies.
If you would like to order online and help Betty please use host code JW9XUGTG. If you prefer to order in person please let me know before Tuesday night.
Heidi’s class is this Saturday the 8th. We are creating cute favors and two cards. Reserve your seat by Wednesday night.
It’s Sabbath Sunday! This is the day to rest and recharge.
I don’t know about you but my body knows when it is Sunday. Every part of me just says couch please. I am so glad I have a day that my body knows is off. Before blocking a day off my body would crash right in the middle of big projects or more.
So what do you do to rest? Do you have time blocked off to do fun things, sleep in, eat a big breakfast???
On Tuesday new coordinating dies begin to sell! This is awesome, especially if you don’t like cutting stamped items out by hand. More information will come on Tuesday.
Sale-A-Bration is one third of the way over. If you feel like signing up and giving Stampin’ Up! a test drive don’t wait! The longer you wait the less time you have to see what behind the scenes looks like.
If you would like to order to help Betty please use host code JW9XUGTG . If you prefer to order in person please contact me.
It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward!
Do you have that one special friend that says “hey, I know you are driving far today…text me when you get home”? Are you lucky enough to have a couple?
I have a couple of those friends that always seem to know when I am going through a rough patch or need an extra check-in. For example, yesterday I was driving a ways to deliver some orders and I had one friend that said “let me know when you get home”. I am usually the one to say something like this.
Do you know how nice it is for someone to ask this from the other side? I had forgotten since it’s been awhile.
It’s Tutorial Thursday! Today I am showing you how to create this card.
Here are the instructions.
Cut Thick Whisper White Card Stock to 4 1/4″ X 11″. On the 11″ side score at 5 1/2″. This is your card base.
Cut Blackberry Bliss Card Stock to 5″ X 3 3/4″. Run through die cut machine with gate die. You will use the outside frame and keep the gate for another card. Attach the mat with cutout to the card base.
Take Night of Navy Card Stock and run through machine with gate die. Attach cutout to inside of mat with Snail Adhesive.
Cut Leaf Ribbon and attach with Glue Dots.
For sentiment (Peaceful Moments Stamp Set used here) stamp in Versamark Ink and then quickly in to Blackberry Bliss. Stamp on card base and quickly cover with Clear Embossing Powder. Melt with Heat Tool.
For flowers take Small Bloom Punch and punch out about a dozen flowers from the Peaceul Poppies Designer Series Paper. Snip each petal at an angle. Spritz with water until damp. Use large stylus to shape. When dry attach together with Glue Dots as well as to card. Place gems in center of each flower (Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels used here).
It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended!
You know how I usually talk about how a product is used in a weird way. Like how a heart becomes a hershey kiss or a poppy center becomes a crown. I remind you to look at things sideways, upside down, and backwards to find out what else there is.
Well, today instead I am talking about how two products from two different suites coordinate. I was amazed when the rose from the Garden Gateway Dies fell on top of the Best Dressed Designer Series Paper and it matched. Don’t always look sideways, sometimes look across to different parts of the catalog.
With inky fingers,
P.S. We will be creating with this combination on Saturday for Betty’s Class. Today is the last day to reserve your seat so let me know ASAP if you are coming!
