Turkeys, leaves, and feeling grateful.

Well, it’s Thanksgiving Day in the States.  That means for a bunch of us that the turkey is in the oven or getting ready to be dunked in the huge vat of oil (in my house).  Whatever you do be safe, have fun, and if all else fails go sit at the kids’ table.  IContinue reading “Turkeys, leaves, and feeling grateful.”

Negative space can be a positive.

Sometimes the negative speaks louder than the positive.  This is true in stamping also.  In this case I took the smaller leaf from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies and created a background.  Don’t be scared of the negative.  Sometimes if the negative is used correctly it becomes a huge positive. Coloring on vellum.

The new Stampin’ Blends are awesome!  They dry while coloring on vellum.  Finally, something that dries without having to heat set.  And there is enough color to block the adhesive.  Take a look at the Facebook Live that has been uploaded to YouTube for a full tutorial. Using scraps for a background.

Once in a while you actually need to use your scraps.  That folder, bin, or bag gets full!  Use those bits and pieces!  Trim them into similar shapes and create a background. If you have bigger pieces then you can create mats or accents like the vanilla wood plank.  Now go create! For the fullContinue reading “Using scraps for a background.”

Sometimes dimensionals level you out.

Sometimes dimensionals are not to bring things up but to level them out.  When doing a shaker card you have an area that is higher than the rest.  This is where the shaker is.  To level out the card so nothing ends up concave use dimensionals to level it out.
