Creating Ripples

It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward.

Do you know how many people you will have impact on with a simple smile? Opening a door? Helping a friend to move? And the list goes on and on and on…

So often we think that our little gesture doesn’t mean much. But you never know.

Recently my husband, Joel, flew to Tennessee for the Celebration of Life for a friend that passed away from cancer. He wasn’t thinking of going since he hadn’t really seen her for years. But that wasn’t the case. The husband messaged Joel and requested for him to come.

As Joel played bagpipes, bugle for taps, and spoke on her life he was still wondering why he was there. Why was he important to her? Yes, they had been friends but that was years ago.

Well, that was answered right after the service. Joel was the one that invited her to church which led to her meeting her husband. Her husband says that if Joel hadn’t invited her they would probably have never met.

So what have you done that seemed little and ended up being monumental or pivotal for someone? You may never know. But, I do know, that will make me think twice on how I react and what I do.
