Friends do things different with the same meaning.

It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to give back or pay it forward.

What does a friend need to do or not do to be considered a friend? Do they need to call, send a note, bring a gift, share a meal…?

Even in my own household friendship is so different.

For my daughter it’s someone that you actually reply to and don’t leave their message left unread. It’s someone that you can be goofy with, take pictures, and share a laugh. Now all this is done over texts and Snapchat now, but it’s still sharing life together.

For my husband it’s someone you are sarcastic with. It’s someone that gets your very dry sense of humor. It’s someone that has suffered through war and field exercises with you. It’s someone that doesn’t have to worry about how you are going to take something and you can be very real with.

For me it’s someone that I want to share life with. It’s someone I want to stay on the phone with. It’s someone that helps me solve problems. This is someone that makes me stronger, encourages me, and will just be present. For me this is not just one person but a few.

So what does your friend look like? Do you have several? Whoever comes to mind after reading this, call them. Send a note. Show them that they are important to you.

Happy Crafting!

With inky fingers,

Joni 🙂
