And we are back to Friday again!

This week has gone so fast I can’t believe it.  And I have to admit that I didn’t get my card or cards mailed last week.  So today I already have one mailed off and I am working on a bunch of thank you cards.  Who do you need to take note of today?  Is there someone on your mind?

Remember to take a minute to enjoy life because before you know it the kids are gone and the house is quiet again.  I have three years before my daughter finishes high school.  While I am looking forward to watching what she chooses to do in life it also terrifies me.  All that time I put in to her.  Was it enough?

My point is simply this…take time to enjoy the moments because before you know it they are gone.  Just like I intended to mail a card last week and I look up and it’s Friday again.  Go mail the card (said to me too). 🙂

Techniques can make a card

As I was having fun with Facebook Live last night I realized how much the little things matter.  I had missed the trash can and grumbled about how much effort would be spent picking up what didn’t want to go in.  Last night’s card was proof of that.  The little bit of glue to make some of the wine red finished the card.  So, I am reminding you that it is often the little things that matter the most.  Pay attention.  Happy Crafting!

Enamel dots are not just for projects

Do you have a hard time finding out what color is what in your re-inker bottles?  Mine are all stacked up and I often can’t read the side.  Or I have had to wipe the side of the bottle (because we had too much fun) and now the label isn’t all there.  Here’s an idea for you…put an enamel dot on the top of the bottle with the corresponding ink color.

Now it’s easy to see what color is what.  If you decide to order the enamel dots on page 196 please use host code FYDPPBPN.

Stamping is not just for paper

Stamping is for so much more than just paper.  You can stamp on glass, wood, plastic, and more.  Imagine a surface and you can stamp on it.  So, for today’s tutorial I want to talk about shrinky dinks.  You remember, right?  Those little things that got stuck in the vacuum and you loved as a kid.  Well, there still around and you can stamp on them.  Take your staz-on pad and go.  Give it a few minutes to dry after stamping and then color with either a paint pen or sharpie.  Have fun, create, and enjoy the ride.  Happy Crafting!

Card Class and More

This week is something I look forward to.  Do you?  All of the preparation is done for Card Class and now I can enjoy the best part, you.  I don’t enjoy the hours of coming up with ideas, creating, designing, and preparing.  But I love seeing your smiling faces and the joy that creating brings to you.  So, for me, this week is the best part.  When all of the work pays off.  For those of you that haven’t decided yet you have a couple more hours to let me know that you are coming.  The RSVP deadline is at noon today.

Here are the cards we are creating.

So let me know if you can make it!

Also in the works is an All Ages Watercolor Class for August 19.  Save the date for Saturday!  More details to come.

And last, but not least, our first Christmas Stamp-A-Stack is coming on Saturday, August 26th.

Happy Crafting!

How do you re-charge?

Sunday in my home is a day of resting and re-charging.  Not much is usually happening and everyone is more than likely home.  Today is a day of cleaning from the craft fair (swap meet) yesterday and also mopping floors.  When there are enough rocks on your kitchen floor that you put shoes on to make coffee it’s time to sweep and mop.  Hopefully I will get some time in to create, but if not I will be cleaned and ready to start the week with some new creations.

So, tell me how do you rest?  Do you go hiking, craft, clean, or simply nap all day until Monday rolls around?  Whatever you do, Happy Crafting!

Sales, Swap Meets, and Coupon Codes

As I am writing this I am grateful to be sitting.  I just finished packing up for today’s Swap Meet at the Yucca Mesa Community Center from 8-12:30.  Bring a little extra cash with you as the Center has a pancake breakfast as well.  I have all the “normal” crafty things (cards, magnets, etc.).  Of course there will be a chance at a raffle and a voucher to everyone that walks in the door.

I am not sure who else will show up to sell at the Swap Meet.  There has been everything from saddles and tractors to santa suits to crafts and jewelry.  Come and find a treasure.

There’s not very many promotions right now except that you can get a jump on Christmas by ordering the Carols of Christmas bundle (or any part of).

Don’t forget to redeem your coupons either.  If you have codes that you want me to apply to your order please feel free to forward them via e-mail to me.

For any on-line orders please use host code FYDPPBPN.

Well, I’d better get driving so I am not late for this Swap Meet.  See you soon!  Happy Crafting!

Giving Back

I love Fridays!  Not because it’s Friday but because this is the day that I focus on giving back or paying it forward.  I know you’re asking, but isn’t this every day?  YES!!!  But today I set aside for making sure the cards are actually mailed or that person that I can’t get out of my mind is called.  Don’t let those great stories be only something you scroll by on your feed.  Be that story.  Be the one to post a picture.  Be the one to make impact and cause a ripple.

I found this one lonely stamp this morning.

I don’t know who needs the happy mail that will be attached to this stamp, but it’s early yet.  All I know is that it will not be used to pay a bill but instead to create a ripple.

So who are you thinking about today?  Go and call them.  Yes, now.  Why are you still sitting here?  Go!

Be the difference!  If you won’t who will?

Happy Crafting!

When Pigs Fly

As some of you know I decided to go full time with this stamping thing back on St. Patty’s Day this year.  It was quite a change.  I don’t regret it for a second.  The last hurdle I had was blogging.  So, here I am…  I have told coaches, friends, family, and crafters that I will blog when pigs fly.  Well…

So, for today’s technique I figured I’d give you a bonus and do more of a tutorial.  This is a slider card illustrating that pigs with glitter wings actually do fly.  If you would like to see this via video please go to my YouTube channel, When Pigs Fly Video.

To start you will need: a card base, mat, inner mat, labels for words, two wood crates, one heart, two pennies (or washers), snail adhesive, scissors, sponge dauber, crumb cake ink pad, classic label punch, this little piggy stamp set, clear wink of stella, and wood textured designer paper.

To make the sandwich so there is a slide, place mini dimensionals on embellishment, penny, two layers of mini dimensionals, and another penny.

Tip:  If you don’t want to wiggle into the slide attach the last penny while holding in place.

This is the finished card and officially when pigs have flown.

I hope you continue to enjoy this adventure with me.  Happy Crafting!

Wacky Wednesday

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it was not intended. Sometimes if you need a wider ribbon you can simply stretch it. Don’t be afraid to take your product and literally pull it apart.
