Remember to send happy mail.

It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward.

I just want to send a quick reminder to send your happy mail. A card can make such a difference by making a bad day into a good one. Remember to not only create but mail also.

Happy Crafting!

An Olympic-themed card.

It’s Tutorial Thursday! Today I want to share with you the Olympic spirit. I want to share with you some hope and some well-known music. So, imagine that you are going through the tunnel and as you enter the stadium everyone cheers for you. Beyond the nerves you feel an enormous energy coming from the crowd. You are able to run faster than you ever have.

To hear the theme song please go to https://youtu.be/q9gL33ze4RE.

Now, for this card, you will need a simple piece of basic white cardstock (thick if you prefer). That’s all. Then you will need the colors for the rings…pacific point, just jade, real red, daffodil delight, and tuxedo black (memento). The stamps used are Art Gallery Photopolymer Stamp Set (annual catalog) and Textures & Frames Photopolymer Stamp Set (new Sale-A-Bration Brochure).

Sometimes the wacky part is you.

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended!

I am not a product in any form but I have to say that sometimes I feel a bit wacky. I know you were expecting some great tip but I have to tell you that sometimes crafting is my therapy. If anything it is consistent.

It is a consistent way for me to cope when my Grama dies (last year), kid moves out (this year), hubby is sick (a few years ago now), and so much more. When I am feeling normal, wacky, sad, and everything in between crafting is there for me. And thankfully usually you are too.

So when you are feeling “normal” or just a bit wacky remember that you are a big part to your creativity. It’s great to have fantastic tools but it all comes from you. So whatever your soul is feeling remember to create. It’s often an outlet we so desperately need.

And if you are wondering…thank you for being a part of my crafty world which often overlaps many of my other horizons.

Happy Crafting!

Make a scene.

It’s Technique Tuesday! Today I want to show you how our stamp sets coordinate within themselves.

Take a stamp set, any stamp set by Stampin’ Up!, and you will find that it coordinates within itself. The fonts and images go together. So when you have a great stamp set like Peaceful Cabin you can create a great landscape scene easily.

Recharge with the right tools.

It’s Sabbath Sunday! This is the day to rest so you can be recharged for the week!

I have to tell you that it is so important that you have the right tools to recharge. Having the wrong tools is so detrimental.

Recently I went out to visit family and just about everything was critical or negative. My focus is not on this but instead on making sure you surround yourself with the right people for you. This way you will not be exhausted, but instead you will be rested and ready to go. It is so important you take care in picking who is around you. Not only will it affect your energy levels but also your perceptions.

It is much like trying to charge your phone with the wrong charger. While you may think it is a good idea it will not help you to recharge. Instead it might actually help you to burn out. Be careful what and where you plug in.

Happy Crafting!

P.S. Don’t forget about the Clearance Rack!

It’s almost time for “tis the season”.

It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward.

Pretty soon the weather will start to cool down and we will start hearing the familiar holiday pleas. For me, the all too familiar rings are from the American Cancer Society, Sheriff’s Department, and so many more. So how do you teach the next generation to give back?

Here are some places your kid and you can give back to the community you live in.

  • Operation Christmas Child
  • We Give Books
  • Heart for Heart Girls

There are also places locally to donate your time and goods such as a food bank, senior center, and more.

How will you donate to give back?

Creating a gorgeous textured snow scene.

It’s Tutorial Thursday! I know it is still over 100 degrees, but I had to finish my Christmas in July series. So today’s tutorial is all about a velvet snowed-in cabin scene.

For this card you will need the new Snowy White Velvet Sheets, Peaceful Place Specialty Designer Series Paper, and the Peaceful Cabin Bundle. All of this is on page 37 of the new Mini Catalog.

(If you need your copies of the new Mini Catalog and Sale-A-Bration Brochure please contact me ASAP!)

Use a heart for a circle.

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended!

Did you know that right now we don’t carry circle punches? So when you want to notch the top of that gift card pocket, card, bag, or project use a heart instead. The top of one of the humps on the heart makes a perfect notch.

If you want a little wider of a notch then use the Double Oval Punch.

Happy Crafting!

Joni 🙂
