Using your block as a trivet.

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended! Today we are using a clear block as a resting point for a hot glue gun.

You will need something to hot glue, a glue gun, glue stick, and a clear block (probably one of the larger ones). Instead of a mat or paper use a clear block to catch the drippings. I wouldn’t recommend doing this all the time since it is a bit taller and might be a bit unstable, but in a pinch it is easily done.

Let the paper shine.

It’s Technique Tuesday! Sometimes it’s best to simply let your paper shine.

I have to say that lately some of our Designer Series Papers have been so cute or elegant that you really don’t have to do much with them when creating. This card is a great way to use up scraps.

If you would like to create this card, play games, win prizes, and have lunch then plan on coming on Saturday.

If you choose to create with this technique please post your creation to my page, https://facebook.com/StampingWithJoni.

Rest from the routine.

It’s Sabbath Sunday! This is the day to focus on resting so you can be recharged for the week.

Sometimes rest looks more like a break from the routine. You don’t necessarily rest but instead you re-prioritize so you can do other things that may take more time, energy, or just don’t get looked at it during the normal week (whatever normal is).

For me this means tackling a few projects for fairs that are normally packed away.

What does this mean for you?

Just 13 days!

It’s Sale Saturday!

We have 13 more days for Sale-A-Bration! What’s on your wish list? Is there something you need to see in person? Let me know so we can coordinate.

There is a sign up bonus right now that can save you almost the cost of the starter kit. Between the bonus bundle being offered and our regularly great deal it is a steal. Ask me for more information on this! And the only qualification is to buy or sell $300 in products a quarter. No credit report pulled and no negative anything for dropping. But this only lasts until the end of September.

If you would like to order online please use the link https://www.stampinup.com?hostcode=D766P2U6. This link will be good through Saturday the 25th at 7:30 pm. To read about the Deal of the Month please go to https://stampingwithjoni.wordpress.com/rewards/.

If you have a friend that you have been sharing your catalog with please tell me. I get them their own copies. Please contact me!

Giving Legos New Life

It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward.

Did your kids play with Legos? Did you spend a small fortune getting that bin of building blocks? And now they are grown and you still have that bin? Well, I found a place that will take your old Legos, clean them, and give them to kids in need to have something to play with.

Check it out on https://www.lego.com/en-us/sustainability/environment/replay/.

So go look in your closet and use that bin for something else to collect dust on that shelf.

Using dies to stencil.

It’s Tutorial Thursday! Today I want to show you what to do with your dies that are super intricate.

I don’t know about you but after a couple of times that I use those intricate dies I have had enough of them. All the poking, prodding, and sometimes yelling to get those little pieces out. And don’t get me started if it rips. Aaaaagggghhhhh!

So instead of using it as a die, use it as a stencil. Grab a blending brush and get some color on that card stock. Just remember after to rinse your brush and your die to get the ink off.

This is also a great way to get a bunch of cards done quickly that don’t require extra postage.

If you use this technique please post to my page, https://facebook.com/StampingWithJoni.

And for full instructions and a video please go to https://youtu.be/aAFXSbFfR9A. If you comment before the 21st you will also get written instructions emailed to you.

A tombstone from a label.

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended!

Are you getting ready for Halloween but don’t want to buy a ton of products only for this occasion? Then use the Ornate Frames Dies to create some tombstones.

Start with the die pictured below as well as some gray card stock. (Silver Foil 12X12 Specialty Pack used here.) Put through Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine but don’t crank it all the way to the end. Instead stop and then use the Paper Trimmer or Snips to complete the tombstone.

If you create a tombstone please post on my page, https://facebook.com/StampingWithJoni.

P.S. Here is my sample of what you can do.

Curling a ribbon.

It’s Technique Tuesday! Do you know how to curl a ribbon? A real piece of ribbon, not curling ribbon. Well, here goes.

  • Take a piece of ribbon and tie it however you want.
  • Spritz with Stampin’ Spritzer filled with water only until damp, not dripping.
  • Wrap around a pen, pencil, or dowel.
  • Heat with Heat Tool on low to dry.
  • Voila, curled ribbon.

If you try this technique please post a picture of your project on https://facebook.com/StampingWithJoni.

Joni 🙂
