Medicine bottles used for fun.

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended!

Did you know that your medicine bottle can be used for more than medicine? And I might be stretching it…but I would venture to say even for fun.

Grab your empty medicine bottle and use it to hold your Multipurpose Glue. If you don’t want it to tip then place a few Mini Glue Dots on the bottom of the bottle to help stabilize it.

If you decide to use one of these “fancy” Multipurpose Glue holders please take a photo and post to my page, https://facebook.com/StampingWithJoni. Just make sure to take off the label so sensitive information is not photographed as well.

Small stamps to form a background.

It’s Technique Tuesday! Today I want to show you how a small stamp can form a background.

When using a small stamp you will have to repeat stamping to make a pattern or background. Stamp them all the same, in different colors, or in an ombre pattern.

This particular card I used Basic Gray and stamped off to create this pattern.

P.S. Don’t forget that the Clearance Rack has been updated this week!

It’s all in how you do it.

It’s Sabbath Sunday! Today is the day to rest so you can be recharged for the week.

Do you know yourself? Do you know if you are naturally an introvert, extrovert, or a combination? Knowing this is very important so you know how to recharge.

An introvert will stay home and read a book or do something to not involve people usually.

An extrovert will want to be with people. You will often find them calling a friend to go to dinner or to hang out.

And then there are the combination people like me. I am an extrovert and love hanging out and being around people. But there comes a time when I need to just be quiet. When I need to get cleaning or work done I generally am an introvert. I like being social but tend to not be able to get a ton of thinking done when I am talking with others.

So what kind of person are you? Know yourself so you can recharge.

Finding out who gives back and where.

It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward.

Imagine yourself needing or wanting something. You walk into the building or website and you begin to shop. When you’re finished you check out and then you begin to wonder. “Where does this company spend their profits?” “Am I helping or hurting my own beliefs by supporting them?”

There are so many ways to find out where the money goes. You can look up that company and request their financials. This is probably the most cumbersome way of going about this. There are so many sites reporting on specifically this that I don’t know how anyone can do anything without someone knowing about it.

Just to give an example, I googled “corporations that give back”. There are pages and pages. One article stood out. Tony Robbins is a life coach for mental, physical, and career well-being. He wrote in this article about AirBnB, SoulCycle, Starbucks, Salesforce, and Patagonia to name a few. I would encourage you to read the article at https://www.tonyrobbins.com/giving-back/companies-give-back/.

I would also encourage you to do a simple internet search for “does (company name here) give back?”. There is so much information out there it is hard to not get overwhelmed. But please, if it’s important to you, look it up.

How to emboss resist.

It’s Tutorial Thursday! Today I want to show you how to emboss resist.

Do you remember those pictures you did as a kid or maybe your kids did with the crayons and watercolors? You colored with crayon where you didn’t want the paint to soak in.

Well, today, we are doing almost the same thing. We are taking card stock and embossing powder to create a resist and then applying ink.

For a complete video on this technique please go to https://youtu.be/w9jqnTc8290. When you comment before Tuesday the 12th you will also get full written instructions.

Chalk marker to the rescue.

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended!

Did you know the chalk marker has many uses?

  • It can be used to write on the inside of a card with a dark base.
  • It can be used to highlight the edge of a stamped image to make it pop from the paper.
  • It can be used to create its own image by drawing or creating with little points.
  • It can be used to add a whitewash to an image.
  • It can be used on a chalkboard sticker or sign. And it can be erased or taken off with a magic eraser.

What other uses can you think of for this chalk marker?

Mirror image.

It’s Technique Tuesday! Do you ever wish you had those leaves you just die cut facing the other way? Well, there’s a way to do just that.

You will want to get some card stock or designer series paper. Fold it in half. Then place the die on top and run through your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. (You might have to run it through twice since the thickness is doubled.) When the dies come out you will have one facing the other direction.
