Resting still has a beat.

It’s Sabbath Sunday! This is the day to rest so you can be recharged for the week.

Do you know what a resting heart rate is? A resting heart rate is when you have not done anything yet and you count how many heartbeats you have in a minute. Most resting rates are from 60-100 beats per minute. Some are a little higher, some a little lower.

My point is this…even when you are not doing anything your heart is still beating. It’s a little slower but still staying in rhythm. So when you don’t feel like doing anything but resting, remember that still a little bit of motion is needed to live.

Do something out of your ordinary. Take a small walk. Stretch. Move just a bit. Your body will thank you for moving, but slowly.

P.S. Merry Christmas!!!

You never know.

It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward.

Today is about one of those life lessons. You never know when you will need your friends. You never know when you will need your savings. So, if you can, put it in the bank so you have it later.

My daughter is one of these people that stays to herself for the most part. She does not have a ton of friends but the few she has are very close. Well, this week she had to call in some favors. She woke up not feeling so hot which later turned into that stomach bug going around. As her friends were checking on her they would drop off snacks, saltines, gatorade, etc. at the door. And although she felt like death warmed over she also felt loved.

So this is your reminder to take care of those close to you. It’s amazing how good you feel when you are thought of and appreciated.

Grid paper becomes a ruler.

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended!

Today I want to show you how one of your Grid Papers can be used to create a ruler. First, you need a Grid Paper. Then you will need a Snips or Paper Trimmer to cut a small piece off the bottom to create a ruler. To be able to have the ruler temporarily stick to where you want it brush a light coat of Multipurpose Glue on the back. Wait for it to dry almost all the way and then place your ruler. This will act as a temporary glue. Then you can cut letters from the Playful Alphabet Dies and line them up both on a line and spaced out evenly side to side.

If you use this technique please post a photo of your creation on my page, https://facebook.com/StampingWithJoni.

Trimming around the edges.

It’s Technique Tuesday! Today I want to remind you to trim around the edges.

Have you created a project and too much of the Designer Series Paper is covered up? Or you have a beautiful background that you don’t want to take a back seat? Then don’t cover them. It’s that simple.

Take your Snips, Paper Trimmer, or Die and cut that front accent down to size. In this case I took my Snips and simply trimmed around to give the accent a unique shape so it stands out. But by cutting some of the excess off with my Snips I was able to show off more of the background.

Loving what you do.

It’s Sabbath Sunday! This is the day to rest so you can be recharged for the week.

Do you love what you do? I do. And that makes it so much easier to sleep and want to get up in the morning. I remember a time where it seemed everything was a struggle. It seemed even moving was difficult. I was stiff all the time, headaches, and just generally not happy.

I know that once I switched jobs (or quit the second one) the stiffness, headaches, and mood all of a sudden were better. It’s amazing how stress can manifest itself. Are you stressed? What will you do today to take care of yourself?

Happy Crafting!

With inky fingers,

Joni 🙂

P.S. Thank you for being a part of this crafty family! Without you I would be forced to do something else.

Losing track of time.

It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward.

Today’s blog post is late simply because I lost track of time. I had a friend call and all of my responsibilities went out the window. Do you have a friend like that? Call them. Check on them.

Happy Crafting!
