It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended!
Did you know that the thick chipboard that comes in the Paper Pumpkin Kits as well as some of the 12X12 papers can double for a Piercing Mat? If you have ever forgotten something at home you are not alone. Recently I had the kit all ready to go with me. For this specific trip I wanted to bring my Piercing Mat to give cushion to some of the more detailed stamps so they would have a crisper image. But, I forgot. Aaaggghhh. So, instead, I pulled out that piece of chipboard from the kit and used it instead. It wasn’t as good as the mat but it worked. I was able to finish stamping while waiting.
Next time you open a kit don’t throw that piece away. You just might need it.
It’s Technique Tuesday! Usually today talks about a new way to use a marker, sponge dauber, or product. But instead, I thought about talking about you.
The most important thing we have besides our health is time. So I want to remind you to use the technique of blocking time so you don’t have to rush those Christmas cards this year. Make time for what you want to do or it will be gone before you know it.
It’s Sabbath Sunday! This is the day to focus on resting so you can be recharged for the week.
Have you ever looked up what a word means? I often think of what words go with rest and recharge. When I look either of these up the word routine often shows up as well. For me a routine is something I do over and over to bring a stability or comfort. If you didn’t know this I love my routines. I like waking up knowing what I have to do. I, however, married the exact opposite.
We used to laugh (and sometimes argue) about the fact that in order for me to be spontaneous I would have to write it in my calendar. To say that I like things to stay on schedule is an understatement. I start to plan what to make for dinner at the start of every day. My husband thinks about it usually as his tummy starts to rumble.
So to get back to the question…have you ever looked up what a word means? Yes! I looked up the word routine which is why I had all the stories above. But what I found was interesting. On the merriam-webster dictionary site routine is defined as “…an established and often automatic or monotonous series of actions followed when engaging in some activity”. This is not the interesting part. I will get there, I promise. The interesting part to me is the antonym. There were a list of words opposite of routine that were “…curious, rare, fantastic, phenomenal, bizarre, unconventional…”.
The interesting part is that these antonyms hold a bit of mystery or whimsy to me. I love objects, people, or speech that seems rare or fantastic. I also find it quite interesting that in order to be curious about something you often need a vast amount of time to look into whatever it is. This being curious often forces us out of our routines simply because curiosity will not usually follow a timeline.
So, what are you being curious about today? What part of your routine will wait until tomorrow?
We have 6 more days for Sale-A-Bration! What’s on your wish list? Is there something you need to see in person? Let me know so we can coordinate.
There is a sign up bonus right now that can save you almost the cost of the starter kit. Between the bonus bundle being offered and our regularly great deal it is a steal. Ask me for more information on this! And the only qualification is to buy or sell $300 in products a quarter. No credit report pulled and no negative anything for dropping. But this only lasts until the end of September.
It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward.
Have you ever gone around saying to yourself “if only…”? If only people were more nice today. If only traffic wasn’t so bad. If only they could get my order right. If only…then I could be in a better mood. Recently I had this epiphany that no matter how good or bad of a day it was depended on my attitude, not what had happened necessarily.
I had one particular day that no matter where I went there were people in a bad mood. I came home and there was that black scribble, just like in the cartoons, still hanging over my head. Then it was mentioned that maybe it was my perception and not really what had happened. And after I was mad then I realized that he was right.
It is much like that odd story or coincidence that if you are looking for a yellow car that will be almost all you see on the road that day. Whatever you focus on will be amplified. So instead of magnifying negativity let’s do it with positivity. I know I won’t be able to change the whole world but I might be able to touch a few that are in my corner.
It’s Tutorial Thursday! Sometimes as we get busy and the season is coming at you like a truck you just need a kit.
There are Paper Pumpkin Kits that come once a month and then there are kits that you can order. Talk to me so we can figure out what is best for you. Some of the kits that are not Paper Pumpkin are cheaper or even a bit more money than the monthly kits.
I have to remind you as your schedule gets crazy to make life easy. Order a kit!
Please take a look at the video so you can see what this new kit looks like at https://youtu.be/O_TSzDw6FJo. If you comment by Tuesday, September 28 then you can order the Christmas Whimsy Kit only through me for just $19 with no shipping or tax. Please contact me to order to qualify for this offer.
It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended! Today we are using a clear block as a resting point for a hot glue gun.
You will need something to hot glue, a glue gun, glue stick, and a clear block (probably one of the larger ones). Instead of a mat or paper use a clear block to catch the drippings. I wouldn’t recommend doing this all the time since it is a bit taller and might be a bit unstable, but in a pinch it is easily done.
It’s Technique Tuesday! Sometimes it’s best to simply let your paper shine.
I have to say that lately some of our Designer Series Papers have been so cute or elegant that you really don’t have to do much with them when creating. This card is a great way to use up scraps.
If you would like to create this card, play games, win prizes, and have lunch then plan on coming on Saturday.
