Country Lane Suite

So, do you hear John Denver?  Every time I hear or say Country Lane Suite I think of that song.  You know which one.  The one stuck in your head now. Last night I created with this great new suite called Country Lane.  I love the colors, textures, and images.  Now I have to figureContinue reading “Country Lane Suite”

And some days you just mess up.

Well, the Wacky Wednesday is me this time.  Have you ever had a moment where you think how could I have been that stupid?  Well, here I am admitting this to you.  Here’s what happened. Last week we had Card Class and we created this very cute denim pocket card. So the stitching on theContinue reading “And some days you just mess up.”

Brayer to create a background.

Using the sponge brayer can be rather tricky.  I have had some say that they don’t like the lines it produces.  Well, today I am using those lines in my favor to create a background.  First, I took Pineapple Punch and rolled the entire strip.  Then it was Mango Melody and finally Poppy Parade. IfContinue reading “Brayer to create a background.”

When the littlest piece is the most important.

Sometimes the littlest piece is the most important.  In this case that little scrap from yesterday’s post became the anchor point to tie on the wire accent or ornament. To view the video and how to create this card as well as a preview of new products for the Holiday Catalog please go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Ujp4ofA6vo. When pieces become the main attraction.

You’ve heard the phrase one man’s trash is another’s treasure?  Well, in this case, the scraps become the main attraction.  I was recently cutting out some labels from the Stitched Seasons Framelits and realized that one of the leftovers was very cool looking.  I needed to save this piece and make it an accent forContinue reading “When pieces become the main attraction.”

Mistakes become a new technique.

Yesterday as I was stamping quickly I messed up.  Instead of making precise and calculated measurements to not overlap with what I had just stamped, I stamped almost half of my stamp over what was already there.  At first I got frustrated, but then I looked at what I did.  Then I liked it.  MyContinue reading “Mistakes become a new technique.”

When wood becomes swiss cheese.

Today’s card has a certain tang to it, much like when you bite in to a good slice of cheese.  Here’s how this one was created. The card base is from Soft Suede Card Stock cut at 5 1/2 ” on the 11 ” side.  It is scored at 4 1/4″. The Very Vanilla matContinue reading “When wood becomes swiss cheese.”

Remember to use the middle.

Just a little reminder that if you have a double mat and the second mat is solid then don’t be scared to make some holes.  Take a few punches out of the bottom mat so you can save paper and time later.  Just remember to keep your punches organized or it won’t be much help.Continue reading “Remember to use the middle.”

Different sized punches for a background.

You can grab a few of the same shaped punches or dies to create a background.  Just make sure to have varied sizes.  In this case I used circle punches. Happy Crafting! With inky fingers, Joni 🙂

Don’t be scared to think opposite.

So many times we think that a background has to be lighter in color and the accents have to be dark or brighter.  This is not always the case.  For this background Basic Black Cardstock is used and the Pineapple Punch Embossing Powder (from the In Color stack) is the brightness.  Sometimes you need toContinue reading “Don’t be scared to think opposite.”
