Coloring from the back side.

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended!

Sometimes you have to go at a project from the back side. This specific one I stamped on vellum with Versamark Ink and then embossed with white powder on the front side. Then I grabbed some Stampin’ Blends (Freesia and Magenta Madness) and colored on the back.

Look how gorgeous!

How to Color

It’s Technique Tuesday! Today I want to show you how to color.

There are many ways to color…blending brush, blender pen, watercolor pencils, stampin’ blends, and stampin’ write markers to name a few. But did you know that you can color with a spritzer bottle, alcohol, and a tiny bit of ink?

Join me tomorrow night as I color with a spritzer bottle to create shades of color with this gorgeous paper.

Music calms the soul.

It’s Sabbath Sunday! This is the day to focus on resting so you can be recharged for the week.

Did you ever notice that you walk faster with fast music? Or you calm down with some classical? I know, for me, that the channels on my Pandora music station get switched depending on what I am trying to do.

If I am hosting a class I tend to lean towards the easy listening station or something seasonal.

If I am working I listen to the ska channel. Ska music is upbeat reggae with a touch of rock.

If I am trying to create something seasonal I listen to that season of music (Christmas for example).

If I am exercising I listen to the cardio channel that tends to have music that is more upbeat.

And last, but not least, to relax I will listen to Casting Crowns, Enya, or sometimes even some white noise.

Do you listen to a certain type of music to get you going or keep you going?

P.S. Don’t forget about the Clearance Rack!

Remember to send happy mail.

It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward.

I just want to send a quick reminder to send your happy mail. A card can make such a difference by making a bad day into a good one. Remember to not only create but mail also.

An Olympic-themed card.

It’s Tutorial Thursday! Today I want to share with you the Olympic spirit. I want to share with you some hope and some well-known music. So, imagine that you are going through the tunnel and as you enter the stadium everyone cheers for you. Beyond the nerves you feel an enormous energy coming from the crowd. You are able to run faster than you ever have.

To hear the theme song please go to https://youtu.be/q9gL33ze4RE.

Now, for this card, you will need a simple piece of basic white cardstock (thick if you prefer). That’s all. Then you will need the colors for the rings…pacific point, just jade, real red, daffodil delight, and tuxedo black (memento). The stamps used are Art Gallery Photopolymer Stamp Set (annual catalog) and Textures & Frames Photopolymer Stamp Set (new Sale-A-Bration Brochure).

Sometimes the wacky part is you.

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended!

I am not a product in any form but I have to say that sometimes I feel a bit wacky. I know you were expecting some great tip but I have to tell you that sometimes crafting is my therapy. If anything it is consistent.

It is a consistent way for me to cope when my Grama dies (last year), kid moves out (this year), hubby is sick (a few years ago now), and so much more. When I am feeling normal, wacky, sad, and everything in between crafting is there for me. And thankfully usually you are too.

So when you are feeling “normal” or just a bit wacky remember that you are a big part to your creativity. It’s great to have fantastic tools but it all comes from you. So whatever your soul is feeling remember to create. It’s often an outlet we so desperately need.

And if you are wondering…thank you for being a part of my crafty world which often overlaps many of my other horizons.

Happy Crafting!

Make a scene.

It’s Technique Tuesday! Today I want to show you how our stamp sets coordinate within themselves.

Take a stamp set, any stamp set by Stampin’ Up!, and you will find that it coordinates within itself. The fonts and images go together. So when you have a great stamp set like Peaceful Cabin you can create a great landscape scene easily.
