Peaceful Prints Challenge

This is the blog post you are looking for. Drumroll please…

Here are the contest details. Take one pack of Peaceful Prints 12X12 Specialty Designer Series Paper and hold it to the side for this contest as well as another contest on October 1st and another on the 15th. Each challenge or contest will last two weeks until the next one is announced. For every entry you will get a ticket with your name on it placed in the raffle jar. The three raffle prize winners will be announced at noon on Monday, November 1.

If you do not have a pack of this paper please contact me as I have some extras.

So, what are the prizes? Stamps, of course. There is one stamp set of the Delicate Dahlias and two of the In Your Words from the host section. The first winner will have first pick and so on.

So here is the first challenge for you. Create as many projects (cards, 3D, favors, tags, etc.) from the Peaceful Prints paper as you would like that are not Christmas-y. Even though this is Christmas paper there are so many options for other uses. Each project gets one raffle ticket in the jar. All products need to be current Stampin’ Up! products. No retired please.

Take a picture of your project(s) and post a comment on the pinned post on the Facebook page, https://facebook.com/StampingWithJoni. Each comment with a project will get you one ticket. Please only post one project per comment. If you post multiple photos in one comment you will only get one ticket. You have until midnight of Thursday, September 30 to post.

P.S. Here is my sample of what you can do.

Curling a ribbon.

It’s Technique Tuesday! Do you know how to curl a ribbon? A real piece of ribbon, not curling ribbon. Well, here goes.

  • Take a piece of ribbon and tie it however you want.
  • Spritz with Stampin’ Spritzer filled with water only until damp, not dripping.
  • Wrap around a pen, pencil, or dowel.
  • Heat with Heat Tool on low to dry.
  • Voila, curled ribbon.

If you try this technique please post a picture of your project on https://facebook.com/StampingWithJoni.

And some days you just need sleep.

It’s Sabbath Sunday! This is the day to rest so you can be recharged for the week.

Today is going to be short and sweet. Sometimes you just need to sleep and have a slow day to catch up with yourself. Allow yourself to do this and don’t feel guilty. Sometimes after working really hard you need some time to just sit.

Happy Crafting!

With inky fingers,

But this only lasts until the end of September.

P.S. Don’t forget about the Clearance Rack!

It’s all about different perspectives.

It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward.

Did you know that when you give back or pay it forward to someone else you have to think of that person’s needs or wants? You put aside your perspective and focus on how that other person will perceive what you are giving to them. Will it be of value to them? Does it show effort on your part? Is it something they need?

These are all questions that are considered when giving to someone else. I love how the focus shifts from myself to that other person when considering them. It forces me to look at the world through their eyes for just a moment. This allows me to understand what someone else is going through better than just reading about it. It’s the ability to broaden my perspective and hopefully gain wisdom.

What opportunities will you take to gain a different perspective?

How to get organized with a window sheet and some tape.

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended!

Do you have a drawer or bin full of a big tangle of ribbons? Then use a window sheet to get things back organized.

Cut a window sheet to about 5″ X 4″. Then tape the ends of the ribbon on to the sheet, spool, and tape the end so it doesn’t unravel.

Here’s the before picture.

And here is the after.

If you use this technique please post photos of your before and after on my page, https://www.facebook.com/StampingWithJoni.

How to save paper.

It’s Technique Tuesday! I want to remind you when you have a mat that will be covered to punch out some labels or accents.

In this case I die cut out the accent piece.

What is your most commonly cut out shape when cutting out on a mat?

Happy Crafting!
