Decoration for a party becomes a card.

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended! Today I want to talk to you about decorative banners becoming cards.

The screenshot below is just an example so you know what I am talking about.

So you can create a decorative banner and add about 1/4″ to the top and punch two holes so it can be strung easily. That way it is easy to hang. Then when you are done with the banner you can take it down. Grab your Paper Trimmer and cut that extra 1/4″ off the top with the punched holes and use as a card front instead.

When you use this idea please post a photo of your finished project to my page, https://facebook.com/StampingWithJoni.

Use a kit!

It’s Technique Tuesday! Sometimes we get ourselves in a pickle or some trouble. Sometimes we get behind and have too many cards to create in too little of time. I want to remind you to have a kit as a back up when you are short…on time, creativity, or simply have lost your mojo.

I shot a video a bit ago to show you this month’s Paper Pumpkin kit. I want you to see the versatility of a kit and just how quickly you can get a completed project accomplished. Enjoy and let me know if you found the video helpful. It can be found at https://youtu.be/-nfryEZf6N4.

What to do to process emotions.

It’s Sabbath Sunday! Today is the day to rest so you can be recharged for the week!

I have found that if I am not at peace there is no way for me to rest and feel ready to go again. This is a great chart from WordPorn on what to do to help process whatever emotion so you can be at peace again.

Ideas to Pay It Forward

It’s Friendship Friday! This is the day to focus on giving back or paying it forward.

Sometimes we get stuck in a rut and the routine becomes routine. So how do you get out of it? I tend to start looking at what others are doing so I can maybe get a different perspective.

For today’s post I want to give you a couple of ideas that stuck out to me for paying it forward.

  • Participate in a clean up day in your community.
  • Run for a good cause.
  • Donate blood.
  • Take the time to sit down and listen to someone.
  • Be especially kind to customer service personnel.
  • Write a positive review for a business.
  • Tell someone they made a difference in your life.
  • Make a donation to your local food bank.

There are several more ideas but these were some of my favorites. To read the entire article please go to http://www.planetofsuccess.com/blog/2016/ideas-to-pay-it-forward/.

Stamping with little to no ink!

It’s Tutorial Thursday! Today I want to show you how to create a card with very little or no ink!

Here is what you need in supplies to create this card.

  • Thick Basic White Card Stock cut with the Paper Trimmer to 5 1/2″ X 8 1/2″. Score at 4 1/4″ on the 8 1/2″ side.
  • Heart & Home Designer Series Paper cut with the Paper Trimmer to 5″ X 3 3/4″ and the reverse side cut to 4 1/2″ X 3 1/4″. These are the outer and inner mats that are attached with Stampin’ Seal.
  • Basic Gray Card Stock cut to just under 1″ wide punched with the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch. Then it is embossed with the Thanks & Hello Embossing Folders. Then it is accented with the Wink of Stella.
  • The last step is to attach the Pastel Pearls.

To see the bonus card and to get step-by-step instructions please go to the video, https://youtu.be/2LdxlHN1XyU.

Old Catalogs Become Bags

It’s Wacky Wednesday where a product is used in a way it is not intended! Today I want to talk to you about what to do with your old Annual Catalog after its time is up.

Don’t throw it away. Instead slice the pages out of it and use them to create gift bags.

Here’s one of the best pins I found on pinterest to help with this.

Enjoy! And when you create one of these bags please post it to my page, https://facebook.com/StampingWithJoni.

Let the Embossing Folders Do the Talking

It’s Technique Tuesday! Today I want to share that embossing folders are not just for the background.

There are so many ways to use an embossing folder. You can put ink and then run it through the machine for a distressed kind of look. There is the traditional way with the whole sheet of card stock to create a background. You can do partial sheets by stopping at a certain point. And you can also do accent pieces.

By doing only the accent piece you can let that wonderful Designer Series Paper stand out.

For more on this please join me tomorrow night at 7 pm.
